Goal 1: To combat criminal acvity and address condions that<br />

foster crime and fear in <strong>Sarasota</strong> <strong>County</strong>.<br />

Deterring crime and creang a safe environment is a top priority for the <strong>Sarasota</strong> <strong>County</strong> Sheri’s Oce. The<br />

challenges facing law enforcement today are considerable. Financial constraints, environmental sustainability<br />

and personal and property protecon issues are being focused on by all Sheri’s Oce members. In order to<br />

be truly eecve we must express genuine concern. By working with residents, businesses and community<br />

leaders we will organize our resources to achieve maximum impact on crime and our quality of life.<br />

Performance measures or success will be quaned by: Cizen percepon of safety and their quality of life.<br />

Increased or enhanced partnerships with various enes. Impact of prevenon, intervenon and educaon<br />

eorts.<br />

Strategy 1: Enhance response to cizen calls for assistance<br />

Objecve 1: To conduct a biennial review and evaluaon of the Sheri’s Oce<br />

patrol zone structure and deployment to assure enhanced response to cizen<br />

complaints and calls for service.<br />

Assigned Responsibility: Patrol Bureau Commander<br />

Objecve 2: To examine on at least an annual basis the response me of<br />

Sheri’s Oce personnel to emergency calls.<br />

Objecve 3: To review and enhance the agency’s system of call priorizaon,<br />

including calls which can be handled by desk personnel.<br />

personnel and enhance service.<br />
