Goal 1: To combat criminal acvity and address condions that foster crime and fear in Sarasota County. Deterring crime and creang a safe environment is a top priority for the Sarasota County Sheri’s Oce. The challenges facing law enforcement today are considerable. Financial constraints, environmental sustainability and personal and property protecon issues are being focused on by all Sheri’s Oce members. In order to be truly eecve we must express genuine concern. By working with residents, businesses and community leaders we will organize our resources to achieve maximum impact on crime and our quality of life. Performance measures or success will be quaned by: Cizen percepon of safety and their quality of life. Increased or enhanced partnerships with various enes. Impact of prevenon, intervenon and educaon eorts. Strategy 1: Enhance response to cizen calls for assistance Objecve 1: To conduct a biennial review and evaluaon of the Sheri’s Oce patrol zone structure and deployment to assure enhanced response to cizen complaints and calls for service. Assigned Responsibility: Patrol Bureau Commander Objecve 2: To examine on at least an annual basis the response me of Sheri’s Oce personnel to emergency calls. Assigned Responsibility: Patrol Bureau Commander Objecve 3: To review and enhance the agency’s system of call priorizaon, including calls which can be handled by desk personnel. Assigned Responsibility: Patrol Bureau Commander Objecve 4: To evaluate the use of Public Service Aides to support eld personnel and enhance service. Objecve 5: To review and revise as appropriate the Call Clearing Guide. Assigned Responsibility: Animal Services Supervisor Objecve 7: To conduct an annual analysis of workload and call volume within Animal Services to determine an appropriate allocaon of personnel. Assigned Responsibility: Animal Services Supervisor Objecve 8: To conduct an annual analysis of the call volume and type within the Communicaons Center to determine an appropriate allocaon of communicaons personnel. Assigned Responsibility: Public Safety Communicaons Manager Objecve 9: To formulate a proacve enforcement strategy to idenfy, prevent and intervene in gang acvity in Sarasota County.
