The success of a brand has its raison d’etre in its history. The stages throughout its progression towards 

success let one develop an understanding of the reasons behind its evolution and growth. 

When one enters into contact with the world of Tonino Lamborghini, one meets part of Italian history, an 

original part which has allowed us to diffuse our style. 

In 1981 Tonino Lamborghini designed and branded his first watch. Reinterpreting the historical values and 

the symbolism which characterize his family, Tonino gave life to a new prestige brand. Drawing inspiration 

from his previous experiences in the field of engineering and design, he extended the concept of luxury to 

products capable of evoking a world made up of fashion, technology and innovation: watches, sunglasses, 

perfumes, leather accessories, furnishing items and clothing lines created from the most sort after, high 

quality materials; a coordinated universe of complimenting stylish items, which express Pure Italian Talent. 

The creative spirit and the passion for design and technology of Tonino’s father Ferruccio, (the entrepreneur 

of international success in the field of mechanics), were inherited elements that Tonino Lamborghini knew 

how to transform into his own style, a style synonymous with originality, luxury, appreciated around the 

world for that typically Italian spirit that manages to render everything unique. Gritty, passionate, volcanic, 

elegant: Tonino Lamborghini incarnates the power of the “made in Italy” in the world. 

In 1983, after success in the Italian market with 

the first collections of branded accessories, 

Tonino Lamborghini decided with great foresight 

to aim at the Asian market, opening the first 

monobrand shop in Hong Kong. 

Since that time, the value of the brand has been 

extended considerably, becoming a strongly 

recognized and appreciated brand, with 12 

flagship stores between Hong Kong and Macau 

and numerous corners and shop-in-shops in the 

main Chinese cities. 

In 1991, Tonino Lamborghini, who holds an 

honorary engineering degree conferred upon 

him by New York University, planned an electric 

golf cart model and created a line of apparel 

and sporting accessories that assure high 

game performance to those who want to 

continue to wear ‘Puro Talento Italiano’ on 

the golf course.

A metà degli anni ’90, con lo stile innovativo che lo contraddistingue da sempre, Tonino Lamborghini è 

tra le prime firme a lanciare anche una propria linea di alta gastronomia: caffè di alta qualità, le migliori 

tipicità vinicole e gastronomiche, quali olio extravergine di oliva, aceto balsamico, pasta e salse, tutti 

espressione della prestigiosa tradizione culinaria italiana, garantita dal marchio Tonino Lamborghini. 

Il successo riscontrato da questa linea di delicatezze gastronomiche e il significativo appeal del marchio, 

aprono la strada, nel 2000, alla realizzazione di un vero e proprio network di caffè lounge Tonino Lamborghini. 

Locali caratterizzati da uno stile architettonico accattivante ed evocativo delle radici storiche del marchio, 

ambienti accoglienti ed eleganti dove l’eccellenza qualitativa nel menu e nel servizio sono un must. 

Nel 1995, per rendere omaggio alla storia industriale di suo padre, Tonino Lamborghini istituisce e 

progetta, con la consulenza tecnica dell’architetto Oreste Diversi, il Centro Polifunzionale Ferruccio 

Lamborghini. Il museo, situato a Dosso vicino a Ferrara, rappresenta una testimonianza dell’influenza 

che la famiglia Lamborghini ha avuto e tuttora preserva nel panorama imprenditoriale made in Italy. 

Infine, nel 1997 Tonino Lamborghini restituisce alla sua bellezza originale il Palazzo del Vignola, villa 

cinquecentesca alle porte di Bologna, ancora oggi sede centrale dell’azienda da cui prendono vita le 

creazioni di moda e design del Centro Stile Tonino Lamborghini. 

IL BRAND TONINO LAMBORGHINI: UN MARCHIO INTERNAZIONALE 

Dal rinascimentale Palazzo del Vignola, alle porte di Bologna, ai flagship e corner store nelle grandi 

metropoli di tutto il mondo. Un percorso di ascesa, in termini di prestigio e di fatturato, per un marchio 

che ha esportato a livello internazionale i suoi valori e l’eccellenza dei suoi prodotti. 

Con oltre 15.000 punti vendita serviti, Tonino Lamborghini vanta oggi una distribuzione a livello mondiale 

che tocca i cinque continenti, con una concentrazione nelle maggiori metropoli europee e nelle principali 

capitali asiatiche. 

Il 2007 è stato coronato dall’importantissimo accordo siglato con Retailcorp, società di Dubai leader nel 

settore retail e nella ristorazione, per la realizzazione di oltre 30 caffè e ristoranti griffati Tonino Lamborghini 

che saranno allestiti in alcuni tra i più lussuosi e prestigiosi hotel e centri commerciali del Middle East. 

A luglio si è inaugurato il primo Business Hotel Tonino Lamborghini di Parma, un ambiente dal design 

sofisticato che offre un livello di servizi all’avanguardia, per accogliere la clientela più esigente ed esclusiva. 

Accanto ai recenti positivi successi registrati in Europa Meridionale, quest’anno il Gruppo Tonino Lamborghini 

ha concentrato i propri sforzi commerciali e distributivi con particolare attenzione sul mercato americano. 

Ma le novità 2007 non si fermano qui: l’esclusivo mondo Tonino Lamborghini si è arricchito di una collezione 

di argenti destinati alla casa e all’ufficio, ed una linea di accessori da fumo e gioielli di alta gamma. 

Infine, una piccola anteprima per il 2008: è ai nastri di partenza il lancio, in Europa ed in Asia, della nuova 

linea di fragranze da uomo targata Tonino Lamborghini.

Half way through the ‘90s, with the innovative style that always distinguishes him from the others, 

Tonino Lamborghini was among the first brands to launch his own line of high gastronomy: high quality 

coffee, the best and most representative wines and gastronomic delicacies, such as extra virgin olive oil, 

balsamic vinegar, pastas and sauces, all expressions of the prestigious Italian culinary tradition, guaranteed 

by the Tonino Lamborghini brand. 

The success enjoyed by this line of delicacies and the significant brand appeal opened the doors for the 

realization of a true network of Tonino Lamborghini coffee lounges in 2000. The locales are characterized by 

a captivating and evocative architectural style firmly rooted in the history of the brand, with welcoming and 

elegant atmospheres where the qualitative excellence of the menu and service are a must. 

In 1995, to pay homage to the industrial history of his father, Tonino Lamborghini institutionalised and 

planned the Ferruccio Lamborghini Multifunctional Centre, with the technical consultation of architect 

Oreste Diversi. The museum, situated in Dosso near Ferrara, represents a testimony to the influence 

that the Lamborghini family has had and continues to have on the entrepreneurial panorama of the 

‘Made in Italy’ concept. 

Finally, in 1997 Tonino Lamborghini restored the Palazzo del Vignola, a C1500 villa on the outskirts of 

Bologna, to its original beauty, and today it remains the central headquarters of the company where the 

design and fashion creations from the Centro Stile Tonino Lamborghini take life.

Hotel in Collecchio-Parma (Italy) 

From the renaissance Palazzo del Vignola, situated in the small village of Funo in the province of Bologna, 

to the flagship and corner stores in the great metropolis’ worldwide. Constant growth in terms of prestige 

and revenue, for a brand that has exported its values and the excellence of its products at the international 

level. 

With over 15,000 POS, today Tonino Lamborghini carries out distribution at a world level that touches the 

5 continents, with a concentration in the major European cities and in the Asian capitals. 

2007 was crowned by an extremely important deal signed with Retailcorp, a company in Dubai which is 

the leader in its retail and restaurant sector, for the creation of at least 30 Tonino Lamborghini branded 

locales, ‘caffès’ and restaurants, which will be built in some of the most luxury and prestigious hotels and 

shopping centres in the Middle East. 

In July, the first Tonino Lamborghini Business Hotel in Parma was inaugurated, a sophisticatedly designed 

atmosphere which offers an avant-garde level of services, welcoming the most high-aiming and exclusive 

of clients. 

Alongside the recent successes in Southern Europe, this year the Tonino Lamborghini Group has concentrated 

its commercial and distributive efforts with particular attention on the American market. But the news for 

2007 doesn’t stop there: the exclusive world of Tonino Lamborghini is now embellished with a collection in 

silver, destined for both home and office, as well as a line of smoking accessories and high-range jewelry. 

Finally, a small preview for 2008: the launch of a new line of Tonino Lamborghini fragrances for men is 

literally about to take place.

Tonino Lamborghini, designer e creativo di vasta 

esperienza, non ha mai dimenticato l’alto livello 

meccanico e l’intrigante fascino delle linee, delle forme, 

e dei volumi che costituiscono la base della storia 

Lamborghini. L’innata vocazione di ricercatore artistico 

di Tonino Lamborghini, può forse essere sintetizzata 

da una vecchia quanto ancora attuale frase di Picasso: 

“Non dipingo ciò che vedo, dipingo ciò che sono”. 

In questi monocromi, Tonino Lamborghini ha sentito 

la necessità di ripercorrere e sintetizzare tutto il suo 

retaggio culturale legato al mondo della meccanica, e 

nella libera ma rigorosa combinazione di linee, forme e 

volumi, ha ritrovato, con stupore, le antiche origini 

della nostra civiltà. 

Da questa ricerca che si potrebbe liberamente definire 

meccanico archeologica, nascono sul filo di un affettuoso 

omaggio al passato, ma anche con un certo curioso e 

ironico divertimento, trafori come ricordo di antiche 

transenne, archi ogivali, rosoni romanici, archetti 

rampanti. Queste nuove immagini ci accompagnano 

nell’universo del mistero, del dubbio, dei perché e ci 

suggeriscono gli eterni interrogativi dell’arte: dove 

andiamo? Da dove veniamo? Perché facciamo? Chi siamo? 

Tonino Lamborghini, a designer and creator of vast 

experience, has never forgotten the high mechanical 

level and the intriguing appeal of the lines and shapes 

that are the foundations of Lamborghini’s history. The 

innate vocation of Tonino Lamborghini as art lover 

can perhaps be synthesised by a phrase of Picasso’s, 

which whilst old is still relevant today: “I don’t paint 

what I see, I paint what I am”. 

In these monochrome pieces, Tonino Lamborghini wanted 

to relive and synthesise his entire cultural heritage linked 

to the world of mechanics, and in the free but rigorous 

combination of forms he has again found the ancient 

origins of our civilisation. 

From these efforts, which one could easily term 

mechanical archeology, comes a string of affectionate 

homages to the past, but also with a certain curious 

and ironic amusement , kaleidoscopic images like 

memories of old parapets, ogival arches, Romanic 

decorative roses and flying buttresses. These new images 

take us on a journey into a universe of confusion, of 

doubt, of questions and suggest to us the eternal 

mysteries of art: Where are we going? Where do we 

come from? Why are we here? Who are we?

MARCO LODOLA 

for Tonino Lamborghini 

Marco Lodola was born in Dorno (Pavia). 

He attended the Academy of Beaux arts in Florence and in Milan and he 

concluded his studies with a thesis about Fauves, who will be the reference 

point of his own works, as well as Matisse, Fortunato Depero and Beato 

Angelico. 

At the beginning of the ’80s in relation to the Gallery of Luciano Inga Pin in 

Milan he has found the movement of the New Futurism, of which Renato 

Barilli is the most important theorist. 

Since 1983, he has exposed his works in the most important Italian and 

European cities such as Rome, Milan, Florence, Bologna, Lion, Vienna, Madrid, 

Barcelona, Paris and Amsterdam. 

He also participated at many exhibitions and projects for important societies 

such as Swatch, Coca Cola, Vini Ferrari, Titan, Grafoplast, Harley Davidson, 

Ducati, Riva, Illy (series of designer cup), Francis – Francis, Dash, Carlsberg, 

Nonino, Valentino, Coveri, Fabbri, I Mirabili, Shenker, Seat and Lauretana. 

In 1994, the Government of People’s Republic of China invited him to 

expose in the old archives of the Imperial City of Beijing 

In 1996, he has started working in the United States of America in Boca 

Raton, Miami and New York. 

Besides, he took part to the XII “Quadriennale di Roma” and to the VI 

Biennial of Sculpture of Montecarlo. 

Rather different is his collaboration with contemporary writers such as Aldo 

Busi, Claudio Apone, Marco Lodoli, Giuseppe Pulina, Tiziano Scarpa, and 

Giuseppe Cederna and with some musicians, such as 883 with Max Pezzali, 

Timoria, Jovanotti, Andy (Bluvertigo) and Syria. 

In the summer of 1998, on behalf of Saatchi & Saatchi, he has realized many 

draws for the affiches of Piazza del Popolo in Rome, and for the opera of 

Puccini’s Tosca. 

In 2000 Lodola, who has always been interested in the theme of the dance, 

was appointed by Teatro Massimo of Palermo with the realization of “Gli 

avidi lumi”, four bright six meter high totem representing the main episodes 

of the nine posters. In this circumstance has been realized a documentaryvideo 

by Sergio Pappalettera. 

The sculptures will remain collocated in the main city squares, as it has 

already happened in Montecarlo, Riccione, Faenza, Bologna, Paestum and 

Visconti’s Castle in Pavia, San Paolo of Brazil and in Versiliana. 

He is also the artist who realized the works given to the winners of Nonino 

Literal Premium, during the 2001 edition. 

In 2001, he was appointed for taking care of the image of Carnival of 

Venice. In this occasion, Bevilacqua La Masa foundation organized the 

exhibition called Futurisms in Venice with his works and Fortunato 

Depero’s ones. 

In June 2002 he created the bright sculpture “A tutta birra” - dedicated to 

the figure of Venceslao Menazzi Moretti, the great entrepreneur, which is 

situated in the new city park in Udine, where the first factory of the famous 

beer has been built. 

In 2003, he realized the “luminosa Venerea” for the exhibition “the 

discovered Venus” of Umberto Eco held in the Palace of the beaux arts 

in Brussels, for which he also followed the reconstruction of the external 

facade, the exhibition “Controluce” in the Palace of the tourism in Riccione, 

which in 2004 was moved to San Paolo of Brazil (Brazilian museum of 

sculpture Marilisa Rathsam), then to Rio de Janeiro (museum of modern 

Art), Mexico City (Polyforum Siqueiros), and to the regional Museum of 

Guadalajara. 

In 2005 he made a poster for the winter Olympic games un manifesto in 

Turin, a collection of furniture’s for Mirabili, the pink jersey (maglia rosa) 

for the 88th Tour of Italy (Giro d’Italia), the logo for the “Speciale per voi…” 

program of Renzo Arbore, and also the new image of Roxy bar for Red 

Ronnie. 

Moreover, in the 2006 a new bright sculpture has been put in the 

International airport of Mexico City, and another one in Piazza di Spagna 

(Rome) during Christmas time. Beside he has edited the image of the 

centenary of the pacific movement of Gandhi. 

In 2007 he created the logo for the 50th anniversary of ARCI, the image of 

the 70th Maggio Fiorentino, the logo for the legends of the Music (Miti della 

Musica) for Volkswagen, the image of the 100th anniversary of Fiat Avio, and 

the 110th anniversary for the foundation of Juventus, and Air One logo. He 

has also realized the set for the show “Modeland”. 

In 2008, he renovated the front of the Ariston and the Casino for the 58th 

Festival of San Remo and, together with Mirabili, the set designs for the film 

“Questa notte è ancora nostra” performed by Nicolas Vaporidis. For the 

European Canoe championship in Milan, he realized a bright canoe and a 

bus decorated with some of his works, for Stav “Festivalbus” . In October, he 

will make a bright installation on the front of Palazzo Penna in Perugia, for 

the exhibition “Infinita città”, supervised by Luca Beatrice and he will also 

mount the Rock’n’Music Planet, the first rock museum in Europe, with 25 

sculptures which represent musical legends, which will take place in Piazza 

del Duomo in Milan. 

Many writers such as Vergine, Bossaglia, Caramel, Mascherpa, Seveso, 

Somaini, Quintavalle, Accame, Pontiggia, Carli, Sala, Calabrese, Dentice, 

Restany, Coen, Bonito Oliva, Strano, Fiz, Crispolti, Cherubini, Vescovo, Mammi, 

Hunter, Dorfles, Sgarbi, Daverio, Riva, Deho, Beatrice wrote about him.
