INDUSTRY NEWS
Axis announces innovative new surveillance solution with full 360° overview
and detailed zoom
Axis Communications have
launched an outdoor-ready
360° network camera that
integrates seamlessly with
the AXIS Q60-E Series
of PTZ dome network
cameras, providing
a unique surveillance
solution. With a single click,
operators can optically
zoom in on details of
interest with high precision
while at the same time
being able to maintain
an overview of large
areas of up to 20.000m²
(215,000 sq. ft.) – about
the size of four football
fields. This makes the AXIS
Q6000-E ideal for critical
infrastructure and city
surveillance applications
such as monitoring of public
squares and car parks and
other open areas.
“The AXIS Q6000-E
addresses the need
for a simple way to
monitor a wide area and,
simultaneously, be able to
optical zoom in on details,”
says Erik Frännlid, Director
of Product Management,
Axis Communications.
“The seamless integration
with AXIS Q60-E Series
of outdoor PTZ cameras
provides a smart, innovative
and space-efficient
solution offering new and
unique video surveillance
possibilities.”
This new product will open
up new opportunities
to solve a common
problem, for example in
the city surveillance field
where there is a need for
both a PTZ camera to
provide detail, and for a
full overview camera to
cover the entire area. A
single click on any object
in AXIS Q6000-E, using
the one-click PTZ control
feature, will trigger the AXIS
Q60-E allowing operators
to optically zoom in on the
specific object of interest.
The use of two screens
gives a full 360° overview
from AXIS Q6000-E, and a
zoomed-in view from AXIS
Q60-E, providing operators
with a high level of detail
while simultaneously
being able to maintain
an overview of the entire
monitored area.
AXIS Q6000-E provides
multiple, individually
configurable video streams
in H.264 compression to
greatly optimise bandwidth
and storage without
compromising image
quality. Motion JPEG is also
supported for increased
flexibility.
Dutch manufacturer Trikke Europe presents a brand new solution for
effective patrolling
An easy to use threewheel
electric scooter
with long range and low
weight, which is also
quickly stowed in any car.
For security services, the
new special model “Trikke
EV6 Security” is perfect,
because rounds on
spacious grounds will take
only a fraction of the time
compared to patrolling
on foot. The new vehicle
will be presented to the
public for the first time in
Essen this week.
The Trikke (pronounced
Trike) is a great success
in many countries. So far
the use on German roads
was prohibited due to the
lack of approval. Recently
the Trikke has been
TUV approved and the
firsts are riding around
already. The launch of a
new Trikke model on the
German show is therefore
ideal.
The vehicle from aircraft
aluminium weighs only
22 kg. It can therefore be
easily carried up a flight
of stairs, it can ride in the
elevator, on an escalator
and can be folded like an
umbrella with two handles
to be transported in a
car over longer distances
to other locations. The
driver has both feet firmly
on the foot platforms
above the rear wheels.
The throttle and brakes
are like a Scooter/Moped,
which is - unlike other
vehicle concepts – very
easy and intuitive to ride.
Up to 25 km / h with a
range of up to 35 km.
Around 10cts of electricity
costs has been calculated
by the manufacturer.
An LCD cockpit informs
the rider about all
operating modes. And
within 5 hours, the battery
is charged at any electrical
outlet - it is removable,
so that the patrolling
officer can use the Trikke
practically around the
clock. The EV6 is supplied
complete with street
lighting including mirror
and flashlight, siren and
Security optics. Individual
customization is possible.
