Scoop. Definition: A news item, story,
report, magazine or news beat.
Here it is. Our very first SCOOP for 2011.
A newspaper for kids, by kids. This year,
for the first time, The SCOOP has become
a production open to the whole Primary
School. We aim to produce four editions
this year. What a challenge we have set for
ourselves.
Come lunchtime each Wednesday, our
committed reporters from Year 4-6 meet at
SCOOP Headquarters and write up a
storm. We are always amazed at their
ideas and enthusiasm and are sure you will
love reading this edition as much as they
loved putting it together.
The SCOOP also hired five photographers
who were lucky enough to complete a
photography workshop with Mr Eldred,
co-ordinator of the High School
Photography Club. You will notice that
most of the photos in this edition have been
taken by our very own SCOOP
photographers.

The SCOOP
On the new Year 5 students

There are new and amazing students in Year 5 and
we wanted to explore what they think of Emanuel
School. We hunted some of them down on the play-
ground to find out their thoughts:
Allegra Goldman: “Emanuel has friendly teachers and
people and the education is good.”
Erin Baskin: “There are nice students and teachers.”
Ashne Amoils: “This school is very formal.”
Yoni Sinani: “I am having a great time at Emanuel.”
Timothy Troyanovsky: “There is lots of play area.”
Tammy Sologub: “Emanuel is awesome.”
Danielle Miller: “Emanuel is a cool school.”
Josh Amoils: “It is a big school.”
Tai Oshlack: “Emanuel is amazing.”
Madeleine Weinstein: “Emanuel is a good school.”
We are happy our new students are settling in so well.
We welcome them into our warm Emanuel family.
