Pre-separation and cyclones<br />
In most vacuum collection and transport<br />
systems a pre-separation of the<br />
collected material, before the material<br />
reaches the filter is very important.<br />
The pre-separation fulfills various customer<br />
requirements.<br />
• Discharging most of the material<br />
into bigbags, silos or containers<br />
• Feeding the collected material into<br />
other conveying systems<br />
• Feeding the collected material into<br />
production machinery<br />
• Separating dust from granulated<br />
material<br />
• Combination of various tasks<br />
Cyclones<br />
Cyclones are normally used when<br />
a maximum pre-separation of collected<br />
material from the transportation<br />
airflow is required. Cyclones<br />
are normally located on silos, tanks,<br />
containers etc. suitable to store the<br />
collected material and thereby function<br />
as a dead chamber under the cyclone.<br />
Normally, a filter stage shall be<br />
installed between the cyclone and the<br />
vacuum power unit.<br />
Coarse grain separators<br />
Coarse grain separators are normally<br />
used to separate reusable material<br />
from dust. The reusable material is<br />
collected into a silo under the preseparator,<br />
while the dust is transported to<br />
the filter and dust bin. To achieve the<br />
best separation effect, both cyclones<br />
and coarse grain separators require<br />
constant flow in the suction system.<br />
