Professional experience<br />
<strong>Mark</strong> H.G.M. van der Linden is a tax lawyer since 1993 and has spend thirteen years<br />
working in the <strong>USA</strong> as an international tax consultant at both Ernst & Young and<br />
Deloitte. Based in <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> and Chicago, he worked throughout the US. In 2012 <strong>Mark</strong><br />
assumed the position of Dutch desk leader at <strong>Ryan</strong>.<br />
<strong>Mark</strong> is a very creative ‘out-of-the-box’ thinker and has extensive experience in the<br />
design and implementation of practical solutions for US multinationals and their<br />
international operations. <strong>Mark</strong> has an extensive background in international<br />
publications, lectures and is a very often requested speaker on seminars on<br />
international tax issues.<br />

<strong>Mark</strong> graduated in law with a major in tax law from Catholic University Brabant in<br />
Tilburg, the Netherlands. <strong>Mark</strong>’s areas of specialization include product development,<br />
international group (re)structuring, possibly combined with the use of typical financial<br />
instruments or hybrid structures, and obtaining Dutch tax rulings. <strong>Mark</strong> has extensive<br />
knowledge of the US tax system, and the interaction between the US and foreign tax<br />
systems.<br />
Most recently, <strong>Mark</strong> worked on an M&A transaction in Taiwan, real estate structuring<br />
in Canada and Brazil, Colombian coal investments and a loss utilization and cash<br />
repatriation plan for a US multinational with subsidiaries in over 20 countries around<br />
the world.<br />
All these investment were structured over the Netherlands leading to significant tax<br />
savings for the respective clients.<br />
