BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, HARRISON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI<br />

MINUTE BOOK APRIL 2009<br />

April 6, 2009, Item # 87<br />

The following items came on for discussion by the Board with no action taken:<br />

a) Supervisor Savant inquired whether proper notification was given for the sign<br />

ordinance and suggested that a better method be used to advise the public. The Zoning<br />

Administrator stated that the proper legal notification was given.<br />

b) Supervisors inquired whether Smart Code was mandatory. The Zoning<br />

Administrators stated in was optional.<br />

c) The Supervisors suggested that the site plan review committee meet more than once a<br />

month to expedite the approval process.<br />

d) Supervisor Swetman inquired whether the grant writer position in the Sheriffs<br />

Department will require a budget amendment. The Sherifrs representative stated that the<br />

position was funded with the salary <strong>of</strong>a deleted captain's position.<br />

e) Supervisor Martin inquired whether the County should also have a grant writer<br />

position. It was suggested to revisit this request during budget hearings. SMPDD can also<br />

provide grant writing services.<br />

f) Supervisor Rockco inquired whether repairs to the t100d monitoring system were for<br />

the rivers. The County Administrators stated those were for repairs <strong>of</strong>monitoring devices in the<br />

harbors. Supervisor Rockco stated that the call up service for flood alert <strong>of</strong>the rivers is not<br />

working.<br />

g) Supervisor Rockco requested that the CDBG Palmer Creek project be included in the<br />

ClAP sewer collection system for engineering services.
