Travel Mode Options<br />
By Rail<br />
<strong>UCLan</strong> <strong>Sports</strong> <strong>Arena</strong> is situated 3 miles <strong>to</strong> the north-west <strong>of</strong><br />
Pres<strong>to</strong>n railway station and the city centre.<br />
By Bus<br />
There are two bus services that serve the sports arena<br />
indirectly.<br />

Citi bus 31<br />
Service from the bus station <strong>to</strong> Savick and Lea. Bus s<strong>to</strong>p on<br />
Fylde Road (outside the C&T building) <strong>to</strong> Savick Way. There is<br />
a short walk (1/2 mile) from Savick Way, under the railway <strong>to</strong><br />
the arena.<br />
Orbit bus 88a and 88c<br />
Service orbits the City, 88a anticlockwise and 88c clockwise.<br />
Bus s<strong>to</strong>p at the bus station or outside the railway station<br />
takes you <strong>to</strong> Cottam primary school (88c). A short walk (1/2<br />
mile) takes you on a traffic free cycle/footpath <strong>to</strong> the arena<br />
over the Lancaster canal.<br />
By Road<br />
To get <strong>to</strong> <strong>UCLan</strong> <strong>Sports</strong> <strong>Arena</strong> use J32 <strong>of</strong> the M6 and follow<br />
slip road A6 <strong>to</strong> Pres<strong>to</strong>n. Take immediate left turn signposted<br />
Pres<strong>to</strong>n <strong>Sports</strong> <strong>Arena</strong> (also Ingol, Cottam) the <strong>Arena</strong> is then<br />
signed all the way along the B6241 and is approx 2 mile from<br />
the M6.<br />
Car Parking<br />
<strong>UCLan</strong> <strong>Sports</strong> <strong>Arena</strong> has 4 car parks on site.
Travelling Sustainably<br />
Cycling<br />
Cycling is a great way <strong>of</strong> travelling as it is <strong>of</strong>ten quicker than other<br />
modes and a cheap and healthy option. Pres<strong>to</strong>n and South Ribble<br />
benefit from over 50km <strong>of</strong> traffic-free cycle paths. The National Cycle<br />
Route 62 along the Lancaster canal connects the City with <strong>UCLan</strong><br />
<strong>Sports</strong> <strong>Arena</strong> and Westleigh. Bicycle parking, showers and s<strong>to</strong>rage<br />
facilities are also available at both venues.<br />
The <strong>University</strong>’s Bicycle User Group (BUG) has lots <strong>of</strong> information on<br />
cycling including cycle route maps, guidance on bike security and<br />

Public Transport<br />
Pres<strong>to</strong>n is on the west coast mainline and benefits from direct rail<br />
links north and south <strong>to</strong> London and Glasgow and across <strong>to</strong><br />
Manchester and Manchester Airport.<br />

Avoid problems <strong>of</strong> parking and help reduce congestion by using<br />
Bluebell Way Park & Ride at Junction 31a <strong>of</strong> the M6. (Note: The M6<br />
can only be exited northbound and entered southbound at this<br />
