The 1878 Atlas of Northumberland County shows him living at lot 23, on the north half<br />
of concession 10 of Cramahe with 100 acres and lot 11 (the south 90) of Concession 1 of<br />
Percy Twp. He is buried in the Stone Cemetery just north of Morganston in plot 44-45.<br />
3. CHARLES 3 GOHEEN (THOMAS 2 , THOMAS 1 ) was born 07 May 1783 in Port Hope Ontario. He<br />
married NANCY STEVENS, daughter of JAMES STEVENS and DOUGLAS. She was born 1793.<br />

His name is listed in the Index of Land Claim Certificates of Upper Canada Militiament Who Served in the<br />
War of 1812-1814 on pages 1015-1016. It says Charles Gohean 2nd Flank Company 1st Regiment<br />
Northumberland Militia.<br />

Nancy was a sister of Simeon Stevens who was the first white ba<strong>by</strong> born in Port Hope. He was born in<br />
1795 and later married Elizabeth <strong>Goheen</strong>, the sister of Nancy's husband, Charles <strong>Goheen</strong>.<br />
Their father was James Stevens born in Nine Partners, Dutchess County, New York. He married a Douglas<br />
who was born around 1765. James' father was Benjamin born abour 1733 in Quaker Hill New York and his<br />
mother was Hopestill Shaw born about 1735 in Lansbury, Mass.<br />
