and air crews, as well as being responsible for the safety<br />

and welfare of all personnel working with the SEAT<br />

operation.<br />

The ATBM must be thoroughly familiar with and enforces<br />

all safety requirements of the operation.<br />

When appropriate the SEMG will submit agency<br />

SAFECOMs in a timely manner through the proper<br />

channels.<br />

The ATBM will take immediate steps to assign trained<br />

personnel and secure proper equipment to perform SEAT<br />

operations safely and efficiently at the Large <strong>Air</strong> <strong>Tanker</strong><br />

Base.<br />

The ATBM and the SEMG will coordinate all SEAT<br />

assignments or dispatches with each other and process the<br />

orders through the proper dispatch channels.<br />

SEMG obtains a daily, or more frequent briefings from one<br />

or all of the above regarding mission priorities, quality of<br />

retardant, drop effectiveness, or any other problems or<br />

concerns that may arise.<br />

SEMG ensures that all administrative forms and reports are<br />

completed, including time and use reports, and payment<br />

documents and provides aircraft use and cost information<br />

to the local aviation manager.<br />

For incidents to which a Type I or Type II incident<br />

management team has been assigned, the SEMG will<br />

summarize all tactical use of the SEAT on the using<br />

agency's required form.<br />

H. SEMG Training and Experience.<br />

SEMG training is conducted by authorized cadre experienced in<br />

SEAT operations. SEMG is an NWCG red-carded position. After<br />

satisfactory completion of the nationally approved SEMG training<br />

course, a prospective manager will serve as a trainee until it is<br />

determined that he or she is performing at the required level and<br />

providing the appropriate supervision. This shall be reflected in a<br />

properly documented task book.<br />
