A girl studies at St John Primary School,
Honiara, capital of the Solomon Islands.
On 3 January 2010, a tsunami struck the
islands. Children here are vulnerable to
frequent natural disasters like earthquakes,
floods, typhoons and volcanic eruptions.
Some 20 per cent lack clean drinking
water and poverty forces many children to
drop out of school. This is wrong. UNICEF
is working to put it right by improving child
and maternal health, water and sanitation
and education. We need your help.
