Track Circuit Clips
Used in conjunction with TCOD, track circuit clips protect failed
trains/units in order to turn signals to danger.
• Two types are stocked by Unipart Rail – Cat N o 870/23401 and 870/23402
• 870/23401 is bound so that the clips are side by side, ideal for mounting in rail and road rail vehicle cabs
on a wooden block.
• For a more compact version, 870/23402 is available where the clips are bound back to back
• Track circuit clips are used to protect failed trains/units in order to turn signals to danger. This may be
needed when a train is derailed and obstructing an adjacent track
• Network Rail Rule Book Supplementary N o 9 now requires track circuit clips to be part of the ‘Look-out’
kit
