About the <strong>University</strong><br />
The <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Rajasthan</strong> was established in 1947 as a multi-faculty<br />
<strong>University</strong>. HE the President <strong>of</strong> India is the Visitor <strong>and</strong> HE the Governor <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>Rajasthan</strong> is the Chancellor <strong>of</strong> this <strong>University</strong> The <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong>fers UG, PG,<br />
M.Phil. <strong>and</strong> Ph.D. programmes in various disciplines at 38 PG Departments,<br />
18 Study Centres <strong>and</strong> 6 Constituent Colleges besides 900 affiliated Colleges.<br />
The <strong>University</strong> also <strong>of</strong>fers several Certificate <strong>and</strong> Diploma Courses. This<br />
<strong>University</strong> accredited A+ by NAAC (2004-2009). The <strong>University</strong> provides<br />
state-<strong>of</strong>-art research facilities support <strong>and</strong> through UGC-SAP,DST-FIST<br />
PURSE programmes, research projects funded by UGC, CSIR, DST, DRDO,<br />
DBT, BRNS, other agencies <strong>and</strong> various international collaborations. The<br />
<strong>University</strong> has one <strong>of</strong> the biggest libraries in India <strong>and</strong> world class sport<br />
facilities.<br />
About the Department<br />
The Department <strong>of</strong> Mathematics, <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Rajasthan</strong> established in the<br />
year 1960, <strong>of</strong>fers P.G., M.Phil. <strong>and</strong> Ph.D. Degree programmes. The<br />
Department is enriched with a very good NBHM library <strong>and</strong> well equipped<br />
Computer Laboratory set up under FIST program <strong>and</strong> UGC DRS-I(SAP).The<br />
Department has active research programmes in Pure <strong>and</strong> Applied<br />
Mathematics.<br />
About the Workshop<br />
<strong>Fluid</strong> <strong>Dynamics</strong> <strong>and</strong> optimization techniques have enjoyed huge success with<br />
spectacular advancement in dealing with engineering <strong>and</strong> industrial<br />
applications. <strong>Fluid</strong> <strong>Dynamics</strong> under went a rapid development during the past<br />
two centuries, <strong>and</strong> now it includes other branches also such as, Aerodynamics,<br />
Computational <strong>Fluid</strong> <strong>Dynamics</strong>, Magnetohydrodynamics, Heat transfer, flow<br />
through porous media <strong>and</strong> bio-mechanics<br />
The workshop is aimed for imparting training to young research scholars,<br />
scientists <strong>and</strong> teachers <strong>of</strong> applied mathematics with techniques that are useful<br />
<strong>and</strong> effective in various branches <strong>of</strong> <strong>Fluid</strong> <strong>Dynamics</strong> <strong>and</strong> Operations Research.<br />
Note (i) Seats are limited <strong>and</strong> registration will be made by first-come-first<br />
serve basis.<br />
(ii) Apply only those who are interested in the subject <strong>of</strong> the workshop.<br />

Owing to the paucity <strong>of</strong> funds, participants will have to meet their travel<br />
expenses. However, if funds become available, limited financial assistance<br />
towards actual railway/bus fare as per rules may be provided.<br />
