New this month is a package of HBO programming that begins
with an episode from the 12-part mockumentary “Angry Boys.”
The latest from Australian comedian Chris Lilley (“Summer
Heights High”), “Angry Boys” puts the male species under
the microscope as it explores what it means to be a guy in the
21st century. The laughs continue with a classic episode of
“Sex and the City” (pictured), featuring Manhattan’s best-known
gal pals. Wrapping things up is the gritty Prohibition-era drama
“Boardwalk Empire,” which tracks the rise of Nucky Thompson
(Steve Buscemi), the would-be boss of Atlantic City.
Everyone’s favorite serial killer is back in a new Showtime package
that highlights two back-to-back episodes of “Dexter” (pictured).
In the year since his wife’s shocking death, Dexter Morgan (Michael
C. Hall) has finally come to terms with who he is: sometimes a
mild-mannered blood-spatter analyst for the Miami Police
Department, sometimes a murderous avenging angel. But Dexter’s
newfound equilibrium is disturbed when he crosses paths with an
enemy unlike any he’s faced before: a delusional religious zealot
(guest star Colin Hanks). This new adversary soon draws Dexter
into a dangerous game that could well end in disaster.
