REALTY............................................................................................................. 842-5257
Helping tribal members get title to their land and help in managing their property is the
foundation of the Realty Program’s work. Realty staff can help with trespass cases,
gravel sales, partitions, easements and subdivisions. Landowners are urged to take
advantage of another important Realty service, help in the writing of wills, to avoid
inheritance disputes among heirs and family members.
VPSO Program ................................................................................................. 842-5257
Village Public Safety Officers provide law enforcement of misdemeanor crimes in rural
villages, and can serve legal orders, such as restraining orders. The VPSO’s primary
responsibility is to ensure safety, for example, coordinating search and rescue or
responding to immediate danger situations. Village Public Safety Officers can provide
community presentations about safety, for example, water safety.
There is a fantasy abroad. Simply stated, it goes like this: “If we can resolve
our conflicts, then someday we will be able to live together in community.”
Could it be that we have it totally backward? And that the real dream should
be: “If we can live together in community, then someday we will be able to
resolve our conflicts”?
