Loss Damage Waiver • In case of damage to the Hertz vehicle, the renter is liable for an Accident Damage Excess (ADE) of $2875.00 incl GST for Groups B – F and $3450.00 incl GST for Groups H – M. • The ADE can be reduced to nil by purchasing the optional Accident Excess Reduction (AER). The charge for AER is $28.75 incl GST for Groups B – F and $34.50 incl GST for Groups H – M. This option is included in the Inclusive Rates. General Information • The minimum driving age is 21 years for all groups with the exception of group M. For group M a minimum age of 25 years applies. • You will be required to present your DTN Drive Holidays Exchange Voucher and full unrestricted drivers licence which has been held for 12 months. • Hertz offers a 59 minute grace period on late returns. Any extension beyond this period will be charged as an additional day at local rates and payable direct. • One-way rentals of 7 days or more are free with 1-6 day rentals incurring a fee of $51.75 incl GST. For Continuous or Multi Island rentals, there is no one way fee if the total rental period exceeds 7 days. • Additional drivers free of charge! Additional Extras • Infant/Child/Booster seats are available at $46.00 incl GST per hire and must be pre-booked. Conditions apply. • Neverlost – Hertz portable satellite navigation system is available at participating locations at a charge of $11.45 incl GST per day and is paid direct to Hertz on pick up of your vehicle. General Information • Drivers must be 21 years of age or over and hold a full resident country driver’s licence and have held it for at least one year. If the licence is not in English format, an international drivers licence is also required. • A medical certificate is required for drivers 75 years and over, to say that the driver is medically fit to operate a motor vehicle. • Additional drivers are free of charge. • Minimum hire is 5 days except 10 days for hires with collection 23 Dec-10 Jan. Also 10 days when a vehicle is being collected from the North Island and is being returned to the South Island if its rental commences between the months of Oct-Mar. • Hires are calculated on calendar days (not 24 hour periods). • Hire charges are seasonal – so if you collect during one rate period and return during another, you will be charged at the number of days in each relevant period. • An international credit card must be used on collection to cover your applicable security deposit requirements. • Once the rental has commenced, there can be no refund for unused days. • If you choose to amend your return location after collection, an additional fee of NZD700 may be charged if the amendment is granted. • One way hires are possible between branches and are subject to availability. • A one way hire fee of $300 payable direct applies to Motorhome rentals between the North & South Islands vice versa, where pick up is between 01 Oct-31 Mar. • Vehicles are allowed on the Cook Strait Ferry. • The road user charge recovery fee (RUCRF) included in the Maui Premium Package. If this is not selected the RUCRF will be calculated and collected on return of the vehicle based on the km’s travelled during the time. The vehicle rates per 100km’s are as follows: Ultima $4.96, Platinum Beach $4.84 and Platinum River $5.13 (all are subject to change). • Vehicle collections and returns in Wellington and Queenstown incur $210 location fee (same city collection and return, one fee applies). This is addition to one way fee applicable.
