<strong>Court</strong> <strong>Services</strong><br />
Area Overview<br />
The <strong>Court</strong> <strong>Services</strong> team are responsible for ensuring an effective operation of all aspects of on-court<br />
preparation, maintenance and pack down. The role provides supplies to tournament areas including, but not<br />
limited to, field of play (court), change rooms, satellite areas, tournament control and others. Whether you are<br />
scrubbing markings off the court surface, stocking drinks, changing a net or maintaining the integrity of the<br />
sponsor properties on court, <strong>Court</strong> <strong>Services</strong> team members form a critical component to the success of the<br />
tournament that the entire world will see. Roles available within this functional area are listed below:<br />
<strong>Court</strong> <strong>Services</strong> Team Member<br />
Role Overview:<br />
Your duties in <strong>Court</strong> <strong>Services</strong> will vary from day to day. One day you may be scrubbing the court surface clean<br />
and collecting any leaves or debris, wiping down all on court signage and furniture, checking that all on court<br />
equipment is working and functional, stocking the fridges, setting the towels, and then supervising the court<br />
area and sponsor properties during play. The next day you may be preparing the ice requirements for the day,<br />
delivering ice to physio rooms and satellite areas, delivering supplies to the change rooms, preparing ice vests,<br />
covering lunch breaks, running a hat to court, taking a racquet to the stringers hut, performing net changes, and<br />
moving linesperson chairs across the court.<br />
Key Skills Required:<br />
• Strong physical capability to meet varying requirements of the role, and previous experience in<br />
completing physically demanding tasks<br />
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast paced environment, prioritising and problem solving<br />
multiple tasks<br />
• Site and tournament knowledge is desirable<br />
• Outstanding communication skills<br />
• Ability to work as a team member and independently<br />

• AO 2014 Tournament Staff Launch – Saturday 7December 2013<br />
• Compulsory All Staff Briefing – Monday 7 January 2014<br />
• Undertake the <strong>Australian</strong> <strong>Open</strong> 2014 Online Induction Program, to be completed by 30 November 2013,<br />
an email will be sent to you with the link once it becomes live on 1November 2013<br />
<strong>Player</strong> <strong>Shades</strong> Volunteer<br />
Role Overview:<br />
As a <strong>Player</strong> <strong>Shades</strong> volunteer your role will form part of the <strong>Court</strong> <strong>Services</strong> team, providing a shading service to<br />
players on court.<br />
Key Skills Required:<br />
• General tennis and tournament knowledge (desirable)<br />
• Site and tournament knowledge is desirable<br />
• Honest, reliable and trustworthy
