are the most visible, most
active, and most spirited
organization on campus.
After 40 years as director of the Trojan Marching Band,
I can assure you that the experience will be one of the
highlights of your college career.

As a part of The Spirit of Troy, you will have the
opportunity to not only attend all home games, but to
travel to away games such as Notre Dame, Stanford, and
UC Berkeley. These trips, as well as all bowl games, are
entirely funded by the band. Beyond the football field,
our support for USC Athletics extends to every other
sport on campus.
There is no off-season for the Trojan Marching Band.
You can travel with us around the world, perform
alongside world-class musicians, and be a part of
Hollywood’s go-to marching band. All USC students
are welcome to join, but we will need your spirit, your
drive, and your energy. With dedication, you can be one
of our many scholarship grant recipients.

On the Field... On Stage... On the Road...

Over the course of a
single football season,
The Spirit of Troy entertains hundreds of thousands of
fans in stadiums across the country, and millions more
on national television. At home in the Coliseum, the
band presents a new and exciting halftime show for
each game, often with special guest performers.

The Trojan Marching Band is
“Hollywood’s Band,” and not
just because the big studios are
right down the street. The
TMB earns the title every year
with numerous appearances on
the silver and small screens. In
a single year, the TMB appeared
on American Idol, the Academy
Awards, the Grammys,
and SportsCenter. The
Spirit of Troy is also the
only marching band to
have two platinum
albums and appear in
the Sports llustrated
Swimsuit Issue.
The Grammys
Since 1987, a portion of the
Trojan Marching Band has
attended every away USC
Football game. The full
band travels yearly to Stanford or UC Berkeley for the
Weekender and biennially to Notre Dame. The TMB
is also the university’s ambassadors to the world with
its frequent journeys abroad. The band has traveled
through six continents and seventeen countries, visited
four World EXPO’s, performed on top of the Great
Wall of China,
marched on
Brazil’s Ipanema
Beach, and played
a concert at the
famous Roman
Colosseum.

us a letter explaining the significance of our presence that
day. The teachers literally had to hold the students back

another trip to our ‘home away from home’ was awesome!
The day started with the internationally-renowned Tournament
of Roses Parade and ended with beating the Penn State
