RITE AID RAISING FUNDS FOR CHILDREN’S MIRACLE
NETWORK HOSPITALS THROUGH MAY 19
New Mobile and Social Giving Options Available in Addition to the
Traditional $1 Paper Miracle Balloons Sold in Stores
SALT LAKE CITY (March 29, 2012)—Beginning April 1, Rite Aid will kick off its 18th annual Miracle
Balloon campaign in support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®, a charity that raises funds for
170 children's hospitals throughout North America. Donations will stay in the community in which they
were raised to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital serving that community.
Customers are invited to support their local Children's Miracle Network Hospital by buying a $1 paper
Miracle Balloon at any Rite Aid. In appreciation, customers who purchase a Miracle Balloon will receive
$7 in coupon offers good for a variety of popular products sold at Rite Aid. The campaign runs through
May 19.
For the first time, customers can text “RAKIDS” to 50555* to donate $5 to Children's Miracle Network
Hospitals. Rite Aid Facebook fans can also make a pledge to support their local Children’s Miracle
Network Hospital and share the pledge with their social networks. If 10,000 pledges are made, the Rite
Aid Foundation will donate an additional $10,000 to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

In 2011, Rite Aid raised $4.5 million to fund life-saving medical care, equipment and research as well as
education and outreach programs at nearly 100 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in the communities
where Rite Aid operates. Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals use the money raised by Rite Aid to
provide critical care, purchase life-saving equipment, fund ground-breaking research and cover medical
costs for uninsured or underinsured pediatric patients.
