Forest Cemetery 47
Established in 1852 in the “forest” north
of Circleville, this scenic cemetery offers
numerous walking trails, which mark the final
resting place for decorated veterans and
interesting people such as Jazz Legend Ted
Lewis and “Miss Ellen” Dalton, who worked
in the White House with Abraham Lincoln. The Soldier at Parade Rest
monument by the entrance is the likeness of John Groce, a local war hero.

Calamus Swamp 3
This beautiful, diverse and rare wetland was
dedicated as a Columbus Audubon Preserve
on June 3, 2000. Calamus’ 19-acres
offer a unique glimpse into the glacial past
that shaped Ohio’s landscape. It is home
to several distinct plant communities and
numerous breeding birds and is an appealing
resting spot for birds migrating through the Scioto River corridor.

Circleville Raceway Park
This state-of-the-art asphalt course is one of
the premiere facilities in Ohio and features
professional kart and motorcycle racing from
April through October. The track has drivethrough
digital scales, magnetic and AMB
timing loops, board meeting rooms and a
double grid for 40 karts.

When visiting Pickaway County, your first stop should be the new
Pickaway County Welcome Center located at 325 W. Main Street
at the entrance to historic downtown Circleville.
There you will find maps and brochures for many attractions, as
well as unique gifts, displays and presentations that highlight
the region. In addition, the Welcome Center offers work from local
artists, musicians and authors. Free wireless Internet access.
