Belong More Deeply
As you know, we have been asking our parishioners to write down the
names of people whom they know who no longer regularly come to
celebrate the Eucharist. We will be placing these names in a basket in
front of the altar. During the season of Advent, we will be praying for
these intentions. I ask that each one of us consciously prays for our
own intention but also to pray for all the intentions placed on the cards.
Let us pray that the Lord will open up their hearts to the call of Christ
in their lives and to belong more deeply to Christ’s family, the Church
through the reception of Holy Communion at Mass.
Advent Offerings
There are TWO (2) ADVENT OFFERINGS this week:
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 4: 7:00pm Parish Center
FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT: THE FOURTH WISEMAN: A wiseman, Artaban (Martin
Sheen), seeks to find the Messiah and brings with him three special
gifts. Artaban pursues Jesus for 33 years, always missing
him. Along the way, Artaban has to use his three gifts to help
people in dire need. Finally, Artaban encounters the new King,
Jesus Christ. A great movie for all ages (72 minutes long).
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 6: 6:00pm Church
FAMILY NIGHT WITH ST. NICHOLAS: A wonderful opportunity for the family to
join us for the Feast of St. Nicholas on Thursday, December 6 in the Church at 6 PM.
St. Nicholas will share the real story of his life with the children. Children may come in their
pajamas for this special night and join in the story and music.
Please bring a plate of Christmas cookies to share with everyone after the children get to meet
St. Nicholas.
Holyday: Feast of the Immaculate Conception:
December 7/8
Come join us for this Holy Day as we honor Mary being conceived without original sin. The
United States is dedicated to Mary under the title of the Immaculate Conception. Come celebrate
the Eucharist as we honor Mary.
