Day Trip Camp<br />

Ages 9 to 12 years<br />

Grab your backpack — we’re going on a trip! Campers<br />

participate in traditional camp activities complemented<br />

by a day trip on Tuesday and an overnight camp<br />

experience at <strong>YMCA</strong> Cedar Glen every Wednesday<br />

to Thursday. (Wednesday supper, Thursday breakfast<br />

and lunch included.) Weekly day trip adventures<br />

will be:<br />

Day Camp<br />

Ages 6 to 12 years<br />

Each day campers participate in hands-on<br />

environmental science experiments and activities that<br />

are both fun and educational. Campers also take part<br />

in traditional day camp activities such as swimming,<br />

crafts and games.<br />

Girls in Action Day Camp<br />

Ages 10 to 12 years<br />

Designed for “tweens,” this camp is all about girls!<br />

Campers learn more about themselves, gain<br />

confidence, set personal challenges and make new<br />

friends while participating in sports and games with<br />

other girls. Campers also participate in interactive<br />

sessions on healthy body image, self-esteem, healthy<br />

eating, and the benefits <strong>of</strong> physical activity and<br />

healthy friendships.<br />

Golf Day Camp<br />

9 to 12 years<br />

Children get in the swing with a three-hour golf lesson<br />

every day at Meadowbrook Golf and Country Club.<br />

Campers learn the basics <strong>of</strong> golf, visit the driving<br />

range and short course. Campers also participate in<br />

traditional day camp activities such as swimming,<br />

crafts and games.<br />

Outdoor Adventure Day Camp<br />

Ages 6 to 12 years<br />

Campers enjoy outdoor activities while acquiring new<br />

skills and building confidence. Activities include hikes,<br />

orienteering, geocaching, archery, canoeing (where<br />

available) and traditional camp activities.<br />

Outdoor Adventure Day Camp –<br />

Advanced<br />

Ages 6 to 12 years<br />

Campers participate in a structured and skills-based<br />

outdoor activity every day for three hours. Campers<br />

also take part in hikes, orienteering, geocaching,<br />

archery, canoeing, outdoor living skills and traditional<br />

camp activities.<br />

Soccer Day Camp<br />

Ages 6 to 12 years<br />

Soccer campers will have a three-hour daily lesson<br />

on developing kicking, passing, shooting, trapping,<br />

throwing and sportsmanlike skills through drills and<br />

scrimmages. Campers also participate in traditional day<br />

camp activities such as swimming, crafts and games.<br />

Variety Day Camp<br />

Ages 5 to 12 years<br />

Campers enjoy an action-packed week <strong>of</strong> traditional<br />

day camp activities including swimming, games, songs,<br />

sports, crafts, hiking/walks and theme days.<br />

Variety Sports Day Camp<br />

Ages 6 to 12 years<br />

Designed for sports enthusiasts! Sports campers will<br />

participate in a variety <strong>of</strong> activities such as soccer,<br />

volleyball, s<strong>of</strong>tball, golf, hockey and games depending<br />

on which location campers choose. Staff focus on<br />

participation, skill development, fair play, fitness and<br />

team spirit. Sports campers also take part in traditional<br />

day camp activities such as swimming, crafts and games.<br />

Volleyball Day Camp<br />

Ages 9 to 12 years<br />

Volleyball campers will have a three-hour daily lesson<br />

dedicated to developing spiking, serving, hitting,<br />

blocking and game format. Campers also participate<br />

in traditional day camp activities such as swimming,<br />

crafts and games.<br />

Youth Leadership Day Camp<br />

(two weeks) Ages 13 to 15 years<br />

Get your community hours at camp! Youth Leadership<br />

is a two-week camp that includes traditional camp<br />

activities such as swimming, sports and games. It<br />

features teambuilding and leadership development<br />

activities, volunteer opportunities, fundraising, event<br />

planning, counsellor-in-training lessons and an<br />

overnight at <strong>YMCA</strong> Cedar Glen. Youth campers also<br />

have the opportunity to participate in courses such<br />

as first aid, CPR, coaching, youth fitness and healthy<br />

child development.
