Catholic Community Services
NSW/ACT (CCS), a division of
Catholic Healthcare Limited,
provides services to some of
the most marginalised and
disadvantaged members
of the community in NSW
and the ACT.
CCS’ clients come from many
different cultural and ethnic
backgrounds and walks of life. They
include persons with a disability or a
mental illness, persons suffering from
dementia and their carers, older
isolated persons, persons who are
homeless or at risk of homelessness.
A key focus of CCS is to partner with
Aboriginal communities, increasing
the accessibility of CCS services for
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
people.
Given the breadth of the services
offered by CCS, respect is an
important part of the day-to-day
work of CCS carers and coordinators.

CCS, says, “Catholic Community
Services recognises that respect
is essential in supporting a client
focused culture, which values choice,
independence, self direction and
empowerment.”
The 2012/13 year has seen Catholic
Community Services continue to
develop, improving the lives of
individuals, families and communities.
Key highlights of this year include:
• The successful tender for the NSW
Elder Abuse Helpline; and
• Welcoming the MacKillop
Community Care services, part of
the St Mary MacKillop Care (NSW)
transfer, into the CCS family.
