Special Case: Stacked Events<br />
• After a PNT is authorised for use by the CFIA the plant can<br />
then be traditionally bred to develop new varieties.<br />
• A “stacked product” is the result of using traditional crossbreeding<br />
to combine two or more previously authorized<br />
PNTs.<br />
• The PBO must be notified prior to intentional release into the<br />
environment of stacks.<br />
• Within 60 days of notification - informing the proponent of<br />
any concerns the PBO may have regarding the unconfined<br />
environmental release of the stack.
