Cardio & Strength Basic Step Introductory movement on a step.<br />
Bootcamp/Sports Drill Rigorous bootcamp circuit, includes plyometrics, agility, strength and cardio.<br />
Bootcamp Gold<br />
TBW for beginner or active older adult.<br />
Balance, Ball, & Boomers Working with a stability ball, light weights and/or tubing to develop muscular tone,<br />
core strength, and refine balance.<br />
Bosu Bootcamp<br />
Balance, cardio, weights, and agility drills bootcamp style on Bosu ball.<br />
Cardio Kickboxing Incorporates techniques from boxing/kickboxing into an aerobic workout.<br />
Cardio Sculpt<br />
Interweaves high intensity cardio and total body toning with weights.<br />
Habit<br />
This class targets the strength & flexibility for the hips, abs, buns, inner thighs<br />
Equipment based class.<br />
Low Impact<br />
Traditional low impact cardio class with light weight training. Portion of class<br />
may use stability ball.<br />
Low Impact Gold<br />
Low impact for beginner or active older adult.<br />
Power Core<br />
Intense 30 minute muscular workout for core, glutes, thighs, and hips. May include weights.<br />
Step<br />
High intensity, low-moderate impact workout using adjustable step.<br />
Step & Strength<br />
Aerobic step with intervals of resistance training and cardio bursts.<br />
Strength<br />
Group strength training using body bars, barbells, dumbbells, Bosus, and/or tubes.<br />
No cardio included. Workout designed by instructor.<br />
Strengthening for Dance Dance stretches, yoga, pilates, isolations.<br />
TBW<br />
Comprehensive full body workout to condition cardiovascular, muscular fitness and<br />
to enhance flexibility. May use weight, bands, tubes, stability balls, and body bars.<br />
Turbo-Kick<br />
Kickboxing specific strength and endurance training, including high intensity<br />
intervals and choreographed combinations.<br />
Zumba<br />
Fusion of Latin and international music with dance theme creating aerobic, dynamic,<br />
and exciting workout.<br />
Zumba Tone<br />
Light weights included in a portion of the class.<br />
Zumba Gold<br />
Beginner or active older adult level of Latin-inspired aerobic dance.<br />
Stretch & Tone Gold Using tubing, stability balls, and weights to improve balance, strength, and flexibility.<br />
Sit-n-Get Fit<br />
Chair fitness for older adults with special needs or for exerciser seeking an<br />
alternative workout.<br />
Water Exercise AFAP Basic Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program class designed to alleviate pain and stiffness<br />
associated with arthritis and increase range of motion. Participant release required.<br />
AFAP Plus<br />
Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program class that adds an endurance component with<br />
longer periods of sustained activity. Best for those with minimal or mild joint<br />
involvement. Participant release required.<br />
Aquafit<br />
Low-impact class designed to improve cardiovascular health and fitness by focusing<br />
on aerobic exercise and muscle toning.<br />
Deep Water Power Deep water strength training uses AquaLogix® equipment to tone and strengthen<br />
your entire body.<br />
Deep Water Sweat Zero impact cardio class utilizing buoyancy belts, water’s resistance and<br />
AquaLogix® equipment.<br />
H2O Combo<br />
Combination of cardiovascular and power strength workout. Uses AquaLogix®<br />
equipment to increase upper and lower body muscle density.<br />
H2O Mind/Body<br />
Fusion of Ai Chi, Pilates, balance and stretching.<br />
H2O Strength Training Sculpt and tone body using AquaLogix® bells and fins, and the water’s resistance.<br />
Hydro Healing<br />
Appropriate for participants dealing with chronic health conditions (Fibromyalgia,<br />
Parkinson’s, or Arthritis). Includes gentle aerobic, flexibility and mobility<br />
conditioning. Medical release required.<br />
Knee & Hip Pre & Post Led by certified aquatic personal trainers. <strong>Class</strong> prepares body for hip or knee procedures<br />
Rehab (extra fee)<br />
or helps body continue improving strength and mobility following release from<br />
clinical physical therapy setting. Medical release required. Register at Member<br />
Service Desk.<br />
Synchronized Swim Learn Synchronized swim moves and a few routines.<br />
Total Body Workout H2O Features strength training to tone and strengthen body and abdominals. Includes<br />
cardiovascular workout. Uses a variety of water resistance equipment.<br />
TRX TRX Body Blast Suspension training using body leverage and nylon straps. Body Blast is a traditional<br />
group class format driven by the music. Ideal for beginners.<br />
TRX Circuit<br />
Suspension training using body leverage and nylon straps in a bootcamp style class.<br />
Format driven by timed segments.<br />
TRX Sports Training Sport specific, bootcamp style group workout with non-synchronized TRX exercises.<br />

Pilates®<br />
Focuses on the 8 Pilates fundamentals: concentration, core strength, breathing,<br />
isolation, control, precision, flowing movement and routine.<br />
Healthy Joint<br />
Specific exercises to improve optimal joint function of the lower back, shoulder, or knee.<br />
Master<br />
<strong>Class</strong> instructed by Master Trainer.<br />
TBW (Total Body Workout) Comprehensive full body workout to condition cardiovascular, muscular fitness and<br />
to enhance flexibility.<br />
Mind Body AFEP Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program, designed for people with arthritis and taught<br />
by certified Arthritis Foundation Instructors.<br />
Ashtanga Yoga<br />
Focuses attention on mastery of set sequences of yoga poses, proper breath<br />
control, posture and gaze points. Promotes flexibility, cardio, and strength.<br />
Balance & Stability Teaches stability, strength and flexibility to help improve balance and reduce the risk<br />
of falling.<br />
Chair Yoga<br />
Yoga postures performed while seated in a chair.<br />
Core Conditioning<br />
Focuses on building strong foundation for functional movement and spinal stability<br />
by training the inner unit or true core.<br />
Feldenkrais<br />
Posture Rehab. Neuromuscular re-education for balance in your muscles and your moves.<br />
Fitness Pilates<br />
Mat-based Pilates to challenge core. Light weights, stability balls, resistance balls,<br />
bands, or other props may be used.<br />
Fitness Yoga<br />
A flowing series of heatbuilding Asanas designed to build cardiovascular,<br />
conditioning, improve balance, strength and flexibility.<br />
Functional Style<br />
“Functional Style” classes include a variety of corrective exercise techniques to<br />
improve flexibility, core stability, and body mechanics.<br />
Fusion Style<br />
“Fusion Style” classes include a blend of two or more styles of yoga/GRAVITY/cycle.<br />
Gentle Yoga<br />
Participants that are new to yoga, have special physical concerns, want a slower pace.<br />
HABIT<br />
Emphasis on Hips, Abs, Buns, and Inner Thighs.<br />
Hatha Yoga<br />
Restore piece of mind, release tension and stress, promote flexibility and strength.<br />
Iyengar Yoga<br />
Uses props, such as belts and blocks, to aid in performing asanas (postures).<br />
Kundalini Yoga<br />
Consolidates physical and meditative techniques, i.e. mantras, breathing, asana<br />
practice and meditation to promote mind/body/spirit connection.<br />
Mat-based Pilates Series of low-impact exercises designed to maximize abdominal strength while<br />
toning and increasing flexibility.<br />
Meditative/Relaxation Yoga Combines gentle yoga poses and breathe work to reduce tensions and increase<br />
emotional balance.<br />
Nia<br />
Incorporates jazz and modern dance, martial arts and yoga. Done barefoot to a<br />
variety of music styles to deliver a cardiovascular workout.<br />
Parkinsons<br />
Specifically designed for people with Parkinsons. <strong>Class</strong> maximizes flexibility, posture<br />
and functional mobility.<br />
Power Yoga<br />
Yoga sequences that creat high-heat, high-energy workout.<br />
PreNatal Yoga<br />
A gentle yoga class for expecting moms.<br />
Release Me<br />
Uses myofascial release and acupressure techniques to restore energy flow (chi).<br />
Stretch<br />
Stretch muscles and open joints to improve posture, mobility and back health.<br />
Taekwon-do<br />
Self-defense techniques and forms taught in safe, supervised environment.<br />
Tai Chi<br />
Form of martial arts that increases agility, flexibility, balance, strength and<br />
coordination.<br />
Tai Chi Gold<br />
Tai Chi designed for active older adults.<br />
Vinyasa Yoga<br />
Flowing yoga sequences uniting movement and breath. Prior yoga experience is<br />
recommended.<br />
YAA<br />
Guided weekly activities for <strong>YMCA</strong> Active Older Adults.<br />
Yoga for Cancer Survivors Specifically designed for cancer survivors. <strong>Class</strong>es cover mindfulness meditation,<br />
progressive relaxation, guided imagery, restorative breathing, and gentle yoga<br />
postures.<br />
Yoga for Health Back A specific yoga class that will strengthen and stretch a healthy or previously injured back.<br />
Cycling Cycling Plus Includes 45 minutes of cycling and 15 minutes of floor work including abs and<br />
strengthening.<br />
Studio Cycling<br />
Cardio workout performed to music on specially designed stationary bikes. Minutes<br />
indicate length of class.
