Presenter:
Morrie Touriel
Morrie is a registered yoga
instructor and psychologist. He
began practicing yoga as a form
of therapy for back injury, and
discovered that yoga offered him
far more than pain relief. Morrie
approaches his teaching and
personal practice believing that
the power of yoga comes from a
focus that goes beyond physical
fitness. It’s Morrie’s passion that
he and his students learn to
translate the triumphs found on
the mat to life off the mat: calm
breath, clear mind, find joy, find
love, practice acceptance, and
experience spiritual awakening.
WHAT IS MYSORE
INSTRUCTION?
This method involves small
group practice with other
students where you are
provided a sequence of poses
(the Ashtanga Primary Series)
to practice under the
supervision of a yoga
instructor. Because everyone is
focused on their own mastery
of the poses, you can be
provided individual instruction
and hands-on adjustments as
others continue to practice.
UNDERSTANDING ASHTANGA
YOGA
Ashtanga Yoga is a style of
yoga designed to enhance
flexibility, strength, and
cardiovascular conditioning. In
its traditional physical practice,
Ashtanga Yoga focuses
attention on the mastery of set
sequences of yoga poses
(asanas) designed to heal and
strengthen the body, develop
mental clarity, and energize our
spirit. This is accomplished
through the practice of proper
breath control, posture, and
gaze points to focus the mind.
THE 8 PRINCIPALS TO
