ACU, the ACU Standing Regulations, such Supplementary Regulations as have or may be issued for the event, and agree to be<br />

bound by them.<br />

• I/We further declare that I am/We are physically and mentally fit to take part in the event and I am/We are competent to do so.<br />

• I/We confirm that I/We understand the nature and type of event we are entering and it’s inherent risks and agree to accept the<br />

same notwithstanding that such risks may involve negligence on the part of the organisers or officials.<br />

have a valid MOT certificate and carry a current Road Fund Disc<br />

• I/We agree that I am/We are required to register our arrival by ‘Signing On’ at the designated place not less than 30 minutes<br />

prior to commencement of the event.<br />

• I/We further declare that we understand that I/We are required to ‘Sign Off’ as soon as possible on our return to the paddock.<br />

Acknowledgement of the risks of motorsport: i/We understand that by taking part in this event I/We are<br />

exposed to a risk of death, becoming permanently disabled or suffering some other serious injury and I/We<br />

acknowledge that even in the event that negligence on the part of the ACU, the promoter, the organising<br />

club, the venue owner, or an individual carrying out duties on their behalf were to be a contributory cause<br />

of any serious injury I/We may suffer, the dominant cause of any serious injury will always be my/our<br />

voluntary decision to take part in a high risk activity.<br />

<strong>47th</strong> <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Graham</strong> <strong>Walker</strong> <strong>Memorial</strong> <strong>Run</strong>.<br />

to be held at, The National Motor Museum. Beaulieu.<br />

On Sunday 9 th August 2009.<br />

ACU Permit No:ACU 24671 S<strong>MCC</strong> Event No: 771.<br />

ANNOUNCEMENT. The <strong>Sunbeam</strong> Motor Cycle Club Ltd; in collaboration with The Southampton & District Motor Cycle<br />

Club, will organize the <strong>47th</strong> <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Graham</strong> <strong>Walker</strong> <strong>Memorial</strong> <strong>Run</strong> on Sunday 9 th August 2009. The event will be open to any person<br />

entering a motorcycle, sidecar outfit of tricycle, manufactured prior to 31 st December 1930. The event will be held under these<br />

regulations and any final instructions.<br />

ENTRIES. These will be accepted only if submitted on the official entry form, accompanied by the entry fee of £8.50p if a<br />

member, or £10.50p if not a member of the organising clubs. These entry fees include Personal Accident Insurance cover for the<br />

event. ENTRIES MUST REACH THE SECRETARY OF THE MEETING. NO LATER THAN TUESDAY 21st JULY 2009.<br />

There can be no change of drivers once the entries have closed and machines must comply with all legal requirements, and display<br />

a current Road Fund Disc. <strong>Entry</strong> fees will only be refunded if the event is cancelled. An official programme will be sent to all<br />

entrants a week before the event and be regarded as receipt of entry.<br />

DESCRIPTION. Entrants are required to assemble at the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu, on Sunday 9 th August 2009,<br />

between 1030 hrs and 1300 hrs. There will be a road safety run of approx.: 35miles starting at 1330 hrs, participation will be<br />

voluntary, but to qualify for an award entrants will be required to complete the run in accordance with these regulations and any final<br />

instructions. There will be a Concours d’Elegance followed by a presentation of awards to conclude the event. All riders and<br />

passengers are required to ‘sign on and off’<br />

ROAD SAFETY RUN. This will comprise one lap of a circuit approx. 35 miles on tarmac roads with no severe gradients, the<br />

start and finish being in the grounds of the National Motor Museum. Machines will leave at two per minute, starting at 1330 hrs.<br />

Marshals will be on duty at all appropriate points along the route. Each machine must complete the course under it’s own power and<br />

or that of it’s rider. There is no time limit but a back marker will close the course, leaving thirty minutes after the last entrant.<br />

CONCOURS d’ELEGANCE. This competition is only open to those machines which have completed the road safety run in<br />

accordance with these regulations. On completion of the run, machines must be parked as directed, whereupon they will be examined<br />

for the purpose of deciding the best veteran and vintage machines. They will be judged on originality, overall appearance and<br />

condition. The judges decision will be final. And no correspondence will be entered into.<br />

AWARDS. All are perpetual awards to be held for one year only. These awards are required to be returned to the Secretary of the<br />

Meeting at least two weeks before the running of the next event. Replicas awarded are retained by the winners.<br />

a) Best Veteran Solo. The Schulte Cup.<br />

b) Best Veteran Three-wheeler. The <strong>Walker</strong> Tankard.<br />

c) Best Vintage Solo. The Public Schools Cup.<br />

d) Best Vintage Three-wheeler. The <strong>Walker</strong> Tankard.<br />

e) The most Technically Interesting machine. The <strong>Walker</strong> Tankard.<br />

f) The Youngest rider. The Lightfoot Trophy.<br />

g) Greatest Combined age of rider & machine. The Peter Pan Trophy.<br />

h) Best Overall runner-up. The Smith Shield.<br />

i) Best Two-Stroke machine. The <strong>Sunbeam</strong> Cup.<br />

j) Drivers choice of best machine. The Longmoor Cup.<br />

k) Best machine in Original Condition. The Doug Dunford Tankard.<br />

l) Best Lady rider. The Ken Blake Cup.<br />

m) Youngest rider with the oldest machine. The Charlie Knight Rosebowl.<br />

n) Best Overseas entrant. The <strong>Sunbeam</strong> Tankard.<br />

Commemorative plaques will be presented to all finishers.<br />

PASSES. A VEHICLE ENTRY STICKER AND ONE FREE ENTRY PASS WILL BE SENT TO EACH ENTRANT to provide<br />

access to the National Motor Museum grounds for a machine a car and a trailer, additional passes will be supplied for BONA-FIDE<br />

RIDING PASSENGERS. Passes give access to the museum, the palace house, and the grounds during your stay for the event.<br />

ADDITIONAL PASSES. These must be ordered in advance on your entry form, Please note that these are well under 50% of<br />

normal entry prices. Adults £8.00p. Children £4.50p.<br />
