Terms of References for Contractual positions<br />

<strong>School</strong> <strong>Health</strong> <strong>Programme</strong> <strong>Coordinator</strong> (State Headquarter)<br />

ELIGIBILITY & QUALIFICATIONS:<br />

Post graduation in Business Administration/Social Sciences, Pass in subject of<br />

Punjabi upto Matric standard.<br />

EXPERIENCE:<br />

At least three years post qualification experience in management of National<br />

<strong>Health</strong>/Development <strong>Programme</strong> at National / State/ District level in either<br />

government or NGO settings/Private Sector/Research Institution/University.<br />

Experience of working with communities on health and development related<br />

issues exposure to working with civil society groups in area of health care/<br />

Public health/ <strong>rural</strong> development will be desirable. Computer proficiency with<br />

high level of familiarity with data base management & commonly used<br />

packages like MS-Word, Power Point, etc.<br />

Excellent communication & presentation skills, analytical & interpersonal<br />

abilities excellent oral & written communication skill in English & Punjabi.<br />

AGE<br />

Up to 45 years<br />

Specific Duties and Responsibilities will include:-<br />

1. The <strong>Coordinator</strong> will coordinate <strong>School</strong> <strong>Health</strong> <strong>Programme</strong> at District<br />

Level.<br />

2. He / She will manage the fund flow for various activities of the<br />

<strong>Programme</strong> at State Level.<br />

3. Will assist the Account Officer in releasing funds & maintaining the<br />

accounts for the <strong>School</strong> <strong>Health</strong> <strong>Programme</strong>.<br />

4. Propose & implement a coherent strategy for <strong>School</strong> <strong>Health</strong><br />

<strong>Programme</strong> in the PIP.<br />

5. To address the basic health needs of children both physical & mental<br />

and in addition Nutrition Interventions, Yoga facilities & Counseling.<br />

6. Screening of general health assessment of Anemia / Nutritional Status,<br />

Visual acuity, heaving problems, Dental Check up, Common Skin<br />

conditions, Heart defects, Physical disabilities, Learning disorders,<br />

Behavior Problems etc.<br />

7. Ensuring the provision of medicine kit to take care of common ailments<br />

prevalent among young school going children.<br />

8. Ensuring the provision of referral cards for priority services at District /<br />

Sub- District Hospital.<br />

9. Ensuring weekly supervised distribution of Iron- Foliate tablets coupled<br />

with education about the issue & administration of Vitamin A in needy<br />

cases.<br />

10. Encourage the <strong>School</strong>s in promoting the following :


i. Counseling services.<br />

ii.<br />

iii.<br />

iv.<br />

Regular Practice of Yoga, Physical Education, <strong>Health</strong><br />

Education, Peer Leaders as health educations<br />

Adolescent <strong>Health</strong> Education existing in few places.<br />

<strong>Health</strong> clubs, <strong>Health</strong> cabinets.<br />

v. First aid room/corners or clinics<br />

11. Ensuring management of Immunization <strong>Programme</strong> as per National<br />

Schedule coupled with imparting education about the issue<br />

12. Support the <strong>Programme</strong> in the areas of coordination and monitoring &<br />

evaluation.<br />

Salary<br />

Honorarium will be paid on a monthly basis @ Rs.20, 000/- subject to<br />

deduction of taxes as applicable.
