This session will present the issues surrounding<br />
tuberculosis screening <strong>and</strong> treatment confronting<br />
general pediatricians. Some of the topics will include<br />
determining which children are at highest risk for<br />
tuberculosis, current US immigration policy concerning<br />
tuberculosis, tuberculin skin test <strong>and</strong> comparison<br />
with interferon-gamma release tests, <strong>and</strong> current<br />
management of a child with tuberculosis. The audience<br />
will be encouraged to share their own experiences<br />
at the end of the session.<br />

This session will present a case-based approach<br />
to diagnosis, treatment, <strong>and</strong> prevention of infectious<br />
diarrhea in children using the new Infectious<br />
Diseases Society of America guidelines. Also, benefits<br />
of probiotics <strong>and</strong> prebiotics from the AAP clinical<br />
report “Probiotics <strong>and</strong> Prebiotics in <strong>Pediatric</strong>s”<br />
will be reviewed. Little known, important facts about<br />
these exciting topics will be highlighted.<br />
