and include motorcycle, boating and hunter safety; DMV driver<br />

improvement seminars; as well as a variety of classes in arts and crafts;<br />

computer software/technology; food and nutrition; home/gardening; music;<br />

personal enrichment;<br />

Hunter Safety<br />

All first-time hunters (no previous license) and young persons under age<br />

16 are required by state law to pass a certified Hunter Safety Course,<br />

including six hours of instruction. The course covers wilderness survival as<br />

well as bow hunting, muzzle loading firearms, and modern shotguns and<br />

rifles. Those completing the course will receive a certificate, I.D. card, and<br />

a patch. The course is open to ages 10 and up; however, students in<br />

elementary or middle school must attend with a parent. Participants must<br />

attend both nights of the course to receive credit.<br />

All Hunter Safety registrations are handled through the Virginia Department<br />

of Game and Inland Fisheries. Register online at<br />

Monday-Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.<br />
