Why IGRT? • Gradual change in anatomy and shape: - changes over weeks (eg H&N patients) Adapt treatment plan • Daily changes (organ filling or emptying): - eg bladder and rectum causing displacement or deformation of prostate adjust treatment position /adaptation • Fast changes: - tumor motion due to respiration track or gate the treatment beam or “freeze” the motion
