OUTSTANDING
DENTAL HYGIENIST…
Louann Goodnough, RDH, BSDH
Louann graduated from the dental hygiene program at the
University of Minnesota in 2001 and has had the honor of
positively affecting the life of many patients. Her daily focus
has been individual patient care and helping patients
understand their dental needs and concerns. Louann has relied on many of her life
experiences to relate to her diverse patient needs and concerns.
Throughout her dental hygiene education and career, Louann has been involved with
the American Dental Hygiene Association. Without this association Louann does not
feel she would have the passion for her career which she now experiences. The
MnDHA has aided in the development of her career and helped in clinical situations,
networking, and continuing education. Louann has held many positions within the
MnDHA and is currently the ADHA District VII Trustee, a national position. As a
student, Louann was honored to be a delegate at the ADHA annual session where
she was inspired to participate, learn, and grow within the profession. Now when
mentoring students, Louann hopes she is able to give back the same level knowledge
and care that has been given to her.
Louann enjoys road trips and watching old movies with her husband and dogs.
She has also been a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and has participated in
breast cancer and heart association walks. She feels fortunate to provide care for
her patients and to be associated with many wonderful colleagues.
OUTSTANDING
DENTAL ASSISTANT…
Barbara Seidel, LDA
Barb Seidel started her career in dental assisting at Century
College. After graduating, she has worked in a variety of
settings which included the offices of Drs. Franta and
Nelson, Dr. McCarter, Dr. Wilkes, and Dr. Anderson.
In these different settings, Barb has learned a variety of
techniques, many of which were not taught in a textbook. She recalls tapping gold
foil restorations and making hydrocolloid impressions, techniques that are not
commonly used now.
In 1984 Barb moved to the office of Dr. Bomberg in Highland Park and still
works there today. In the 26 years that she has worked there, Barb has taken on
many new responsibilities within the office. She enjoys continuing education
and staying current in the profession. She is also proud to serve in the dental
community and encourages all of her dental assisting colleagues to continue to
learn and to network with other dental assistants.
Barb and her husband have been married for 28 years and have four boys.
She loves sewing, traveling, and camping in her free time.
