Syncrude in the early ‘80s.<br />

Aurora mine in 2000,<br />
Syncrude introduced lowenergy<br />
extraction, a<br />
process that uses up to 40%<br />
less energy, thereby significantly<br />
lowering operating<br />
costs and reducing greenhouse<br />
gas emissions.
