Walking Routes & Trails of Prince George Walking times While distances have been provided for the trails and routes in this guide, walking times have not been included as an individual’s walking pace varies depending on stride length, terrain, walking surface, physical condition, age and gender. Generally, it takes approximately one hour to walk 5 kilometres on relatively fl at terrain. Share the trails • Trail users may also include cyclists, equestrians, runners, scooters, strollers • Slow down and communicate when passing • Keep to the right and control your speed • Leash your pet and respect wildlife While you’re there • Stay on designated trails • Keep dogs on a leash • Place litter and dog waste in garbage containers • Respect wildlife and plants Be bear and moose aware Bears and moose are frequent visitors to the trails and routes included in this book. Be cautious, keep your distance and do not feed them. Adopt a bench or picnic table Looking for a place to rest along your favourite trail? The City of Prince George’s popular Gifts and Legacies Program continues to grow in our parks and along our trails. These well made benches and tables are funded by individuals or groups and are often dedicated to a loved one. The City of Prince George will work with the sponsor to decide on a suitable location for the bench or table and an appropriate plaque for the community to enjoy.
