several ways: scale inhibition, metal ion
solubilization, crystal modification, and particulate
dispersion.
– Polymer inhibit scale formation by disrupting the
growth of deposits.
– Carboxylated polymers will form a soluble complex
with feed water hardness.
– Polymers cannot be tested in process for residual,
therefore inbalances in boiler water chemistry
create dosing problems
