In addition to the White House visit, the Champions had the
chance to visit with their senators and congressmen during a
luncheon on Capitol Hill. That afternoon, Zach met Montana
Senator Max Baucus, who said, “I had such a great time
getting to know Zach—he's a fantastic fisherman. He's truly
an inspiration and a great example of the grit, spirit, and
determination that define Montanans. Zach is one brave kid,
and I know he's going to do great, thanks to his positive
attitude, his fantastic doctors at Shodair and the Children's
Miracle Network.” The Senator added, “I'm so proud to call him
a Montanan and I hope to see him this summer out at Prickly
Pear Creek—maybe he can teach me a thing or two.”
Zach and the other special champions from all 50 states and
Canada represent children's health care needs and hospitals that
provide critically-needed care to young patients throughout the
nation. Children's Miracle Network, an alliance of premier
hospitals for children, is a non-profit organization dedicated to
saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for
children's hospitals across North America.

"Zach Bell Day" in
Great Falls.
Shodair has served the needs of Montana's children for over
110 years, and is one of the 170 premier children's
hospitals included in the Children's Miracle Network.
It is Montana's only Children's Miracle Network

residential and acute psychiatric treatment in one
