<strong><strong>St</strong>efani</strong>, <strong>Bo</strong> honored <strong>by</strong> <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Lucie</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Fire</strong> <strong>District</strong><br />
FF/Engineer <strong>Donny</strong> <strong><strong>St</strong>efani</strong> <strong>and</strong> I.T. Supervisor <strong>Sigurd</strong> <strong>Bo</strong><br />
Named Employees of the Quarter<br />
<strong>St</strong>. <strong>Lucie</strong> <strong>County</strong>, FL – <strong>Fire</strong>fighter/Engineer <strong>Donny</strong> <strong><strong>St</strong>efani</strong> was named <strong>Fire</strong>fighter of the Quarter<br />
<strong>and</strong> Information Technology Supervisor <strong>Sigurd</strong> <strong>Bo</strong> named Civilian Employee of the Quarter <strong>by</strong><br />
the <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Lucie</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Fire</strong> <strong>District</strong>. <strong>Bo</strong>th were honored at the <strong>Fire</strong> <strong>Bo</strong>ard Meeting held September<br />
21, 2011.<br />
<strong>Fire</strong>fighter/Engineer <strong>Donny</strong> <strong><strong>St</strong>efani</strong> was honored for both his work while on duty <strong>and</strong> off duty.<br />
<strong><strong>St</strong>efani</strong> has been active in several charity events, including the Big Heart Brigade, MDA, <strong>and</strong> Be<br />
A Hero Day. He was instrumental in bringing the Pink Heals Tour to Port <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Lucie</strong>, which<br />
brought pink fire trucks to the county as a way to raise money for <strong>and</strong> awareness of breast<br />
cancer. The second annual Pink Heals Tour will be held on Monday, October 10 starting at 4<br />
p.m. in Tradition, Port <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Lucie</strong>.<br />
“<strong>Donny</strong> has an incredible amount of energy,” explained <strong>Fire</strong> Chief Ron Parrish, “<strong>and</strong> that energy<br />
is infectious <strong>and</strong> has translated into more firefighters involved in local charities.”
IT Supervisor <strong>Sigurd</strong> <strong>Bo</strong>, has been with the <strong>Fire</strong> <strong>District</strong> since 2000 <strong>and</strong> built the department<br />
from just himself to a group of five. The main responsibilities for the IT Department include:<br />
daily maintenance of data, communications support including phone, data, microwave, <strong>Fire</strong> CAD<br />
for dispatching calls, automatic vehicle location <strong>and</strong> the website. While many I.T. departments<br />
h<strong>and</strong>le computer software <strong>and</strong> maintenance, the <strong>Fire</strong> <strong>District</strong> is also responsible for<br />
communication towers <strong>and</strong> the software for dispatching emergency calls.<br />
“Sig is a true professional <strong>and</strong> he has built one of the best IT teams, hiring very talented people,”<br />
said <strong>Fire</strong> Chief Ron Parrish.<br />
