Sanghvi Organizes UT Austin Event with Hon’ble MP in New Delhi
Sanghvi Group Promoter, Mr. Darpan Sanghvi in his position as the President of the Alumni
Association of India for the McCombs School of Business, University of Texas at Austin,
organized an interactive knowledge session with Hon’ble Member of Parliament Shri Vijay
Dardaji for a group of 30 MBA students who were visiting India on a study trip from the
University of Texas at Austin. The event was graciously hosted by Hon’ble MP Vijay Dardaji at
his residence in Lodhi Estate in New Delhi on the 9 th of March 2010.
The group was led by popular University of Texas at Austin Professor, Prof. John Doggett. The
group of students included 20 female students and 10 male students – this was befitting as
9 th March was the day when Shri Vijay Dardaji successfully voted to pass the historic
Women’s Reservation Bill in the Rajya Sabha.
The students were treated to an intimate question and answer session with the esteemed
MP and thoroughly enjoyed his candor and experience. The evening saw some interesting
debates between the students themselves on issues such as the need to have Women’s
Reservation Quotas to the meritocracy of the Obama campaign. And last but not the least,
the students were in great appreciation of the generous hospitality that had been bestowed
upon them by Shri Vjay Dardaji. All in all a memorable evening for these young minds.
The event was widely covered by leading Indian publications such as DNA, Hindustan Times,
Lokmat, Asian Age, Outlook India etc
