European <strong>Noise</strong> Policy and its Links to Global<br />

<strong>Noise</strong> Policy<br />

Tampere, Finland - 30 May <strong>2006</strong><br />

Introduction<br />

In view of the keen interest<br />

in noise policy in Europe and<br />

overseas, a workshop on<br />

European noise policy and its<br />

links to global noise policy was<br />

held during EURONOISE <strong>2006</strong> in<br />

Tampere, Finland, on May 30 and<br />

31. The workshop was organized<br />

by William W. Lang and Tjeert<br />

ten Wolde.<br />

The first day of the workshop was<br />

dedicated to environmental noise.<br />

On the second day, sessions on<br />

occupational noise and product<br />

noise were held. In this article,<br />

the programs for each session are<br />

presented. These are followed by<br />

introductory material presented by<br />

William W. Lang, and seven papers<br />

on product noise are summarized.<br />
