Terrestrial Rocks <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Devonian (400 m.y.a)<br />
age. (Circa 5200 metres thickness).<br />
• Overwhelm<strong>in</strong>gly terrestrial / desert s<strong>and</strong>stones<br />
<strong>and</strong> lesser f<strong>in</strong>e gra<strong>in</strong>ed rocks.<br />
• A period <strong>of</strong> emergence <strong>of</strong> l<strong>and</strong> – based<br />
vertebrates, e.g. Tetrapods<br />
• Succeed<strong>in</strong>g Carboniferous rocks now largely<br />
eroded away but preserved to <strong>the</strong> East.
