to be locally sourced. For more than a decade, GAC Manning
Services has combined the best of local resources and overseas
training to provide local marine crew, as well as cadets, specialists
like mooring masters and officers for marine operations related
to energy projects in Nigeria, Ghana, Togo and Benin.
Excellent industry relationships
GAC Manning Services sources deck crew from the Nigerian
Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) pool and
their own extensive network. Such crew are duly certified, have
received basic training and hold all the relevant, valid papers.
The company also has more than 70 cadets on its books, sourced
through extensive interviews and testing at the Maritime
Academy of Nigeria in Oron. Training is also coordinated through
the Regional Maritime University in Ghana, SAMTRA in South
Africa, NMCI in Ireland and SOLENT in the UK.
For officers, the company works closely with GAC Training &
Service Solutions (GTSS), a joint venture between GAC and the
National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI) to provide specialist
training. Merchant Navy Courses provided include specialised
training for oil, LNG and chemical tanker operations.
