Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce
Names GVTC 2008 Business of the Year
The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce named
GVTC as the 2008 Business of the Year during its
annual banquet on Friday, January 30, 2009.
GVTC president and CEO, Ritchie Sorrells,
accepted the honor on behalf of the company.
“We’ve long recognized the potential of Boerne,”
says Sorrells. “We will continue to be a leader in
this community through business development and
philanthropy,” adds Sorrells.
The Chamber’s Business of the Year Award
recognizes the entrepreneurial achievements of a
Boerne area company that displays strong financial
performance, achievement in management, workplace
excellence, product innovation, and
community and social responsibility.

GVTC has long been involved in many aspects of
Boerne’s economic growth. One of GVTC’s key investments in the city is its fiber-optics network

GVTC is now the official telephone provider for the city of Boerne. The agreement calls for GVTC to connect
city governmental offices with phone lines and broadband Internet. The services will be delivered through

GVTC recently completed a project to connect the entire Boerne business district with fiber-optic
communications, making Boerne one of the few cities in the nation to have this type of network.
