their course. CEU’s are recognized nationally and are defined as 10 contact hours of class 

participation in an organized continuing education program.

MECHATRONICS 

Mechatronics is a new, interdisciplinary field involving mechanical systems, instrumentation, 

electronics, robotics, and automated control systems. In modern facilities, 

systems are networked together to meet the demands of highly automated 

manufacturing processes. Technicians who possess the necessary skills to maintain 

and troubleshoot these systems are in demand. 

Skills found under the mechatronics technology umbrella include practical knowledge 

in the integration of electrical systems, fluid power, electronics, computer 

controls, PLCs, instrumentation, robotics, and information technology. Many existing 

job categories currently or soon will require mechatronics skills and problem-solving 

abilities for professionals who design, implement, manufacture, service, and repair

MSSC CERTIFIED PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN 

The Certified Production Technician classes are designed to give individuals the 

basic fundamentals to succeed in manufacturing environments. Participants will 

develop advanced, high-performance manufacturing skills and learn to make sound 

decisions, solve problems, be innovative and contribute more fully to boost productivity 

and competitiveness. 

This program offers complete training in the core knowledge and skills needed in 

advanced manufacturing. The four key skill areas cover a wide range of topics applicable 

to all manufacturing sectors. The 160 hours of training will deal with employability 

skills, safety, quality, production, and maintenance awareness. Participants 

will be required to take a test to complete each segment of the course, and upon 

passing, will receive a certificate from the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council.

COMMerCial TrUCK driVinG Class “a” Cdl 

Start a career in an industry where your training and skills are always in demand, 

where layoffs are rare, and a good salary with benefits await you! Employment of 

heavy and tractor-trailer truck drivers is projected to grow 21 percent from 2010 to 

2020, faster than the average of all occupations. As the economy grows, the demand 

for goods will increase, and more truck drivers will be needed to keep supply chains 

moving. A 4-week day course or an 8-week evening course is available. Orientation

COMMerCial TrUCK driVinG Class “B” Cdl 

A Class B CDL allows a driver to operate commercial trucks such as tow trucks, 

dump trucks, delivery trucks and utility trucks. This 3-week course is available 

both day and evening and follows the same start dates listed below for the Class A 

training. 

deFensiVe driVinG: POinT redUCTiOn 

This 8-hour National Safety Council Defensive Driving course can be used for up to a 

four point reduction on a driver’s motor vehicle record. 

driVer edUCaTiOn 

Course includes required 8 hours of classroom instruction and six hours behind-thewheel 

training. Beginners permit required for driving portion of class. 

MOTOrCyCle saFeTy 

Courses are available for all skill levels from people who have never ridden a 

motorcycle to riders who just want to sharpen their skills.
