GENERAL FUNCTION<br />
Be a volunteer under the direction of the Sports Directors and be responsible for one team in the Youth <strong>Soccer</strong><br />
League.<br />
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES and EXPECTATIONS<br />
1. Exhibit caring, honesty, respect and responsibility at all times.<br />
2. Develop an understanding of the <strong>YMCA</strong> Youth Sports Philosophy and implement that philosophy into your<br />
own coaching.<br />
3. Attend all scheduled meetings and coaching certifications.<br />
4. Maintain patience with team players at all times.<br />
5. Be prepared and organized for all scheduled practices and games.<br />
6. Distribute <strong>YMCA</strong> information including flyers, schedules, rosters, etc. when necessary.<br />
7. Develop good player/coach relationship with team members<br />
8. Encourage all team members with positive reinforcement<br />
9. Lead team members to shake hands with the opponent following each game.<br />
10. Encourage good sportsmanship in all practices and games<br />
11. Ensure every player the chance of playing at least one half of every game<br />
12. Have the ability to keep winning in perspective and emphasize the other important goals of participating in a<br />
youth sports program (skill development, having fun, meeting new friends, becoming more fit, etc.)<br />
VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS:<br />
1. HR Paperwork – Application, Code of Conduct, Child Abuse Reporting Procedures, 3 personal reference<br />
checks, and Criminal Background Check (yearly)<br />
2. Attendance at a Blood Borne Pathogen and Child Abuse Prevention Training.<br />
