The <strong>Madison</strong> Area Technical College (MATC)<br />
District Board voted <strong>at</strong> its June 8 meeting to<br />
adopt the 2005-06 fiscal year budget. The<br />
budget of $169,458,500 includes an<br />
estim<strong>at</strong>ed mill r<strong>at</strong>e of 1.30446. For every<br />
$100,000 in assessed property value,<br />
district property owners will pay $130.45<br />
in taxes to support MATC, $.79 less than<br />
last year. The estim<strong>at</strong>ed mill r<strong>at</strong>e will be<br />
adjusted in October based on actual<br />
equalized property valu<strong>at</strong>ion assessments.<br />

For his support of educ<strong>at</strong>ion and early detection<br />
of oral cancer, dentist Chris Kammer, Center for<br />
Cosmetic Dentistry, received the Lifesaver<br />
Award from Oral Cancer Found<strong>at</strong>ion, Inc. In<br />
June, Kammer was presented with the Invisalign<br />
Premier Provider Award by Align Technologies in<br />
Santa Clara, Calif.<br />
