Programme overview
The programme provides an in-depth understanding of
both the practical and the theoretical aspects of business
law within the European Union and of how the internal
market operates in a global context. Students also acquire
knowledge of EU constitutional law as a necessary basis for
the understanding of European business law.
The programme provides both general and specific
knowledge of the European Union legal framework, which
is necessary for students intending to work as legal advisors
or business decision-makers. Students can tailor the
programme to suit their own interests, which gives them
a competitive edge when applying for future positions on
the labour market.
Programme modules/courses
Courses in the 2 year programme: Compulsory courses
(75 ECTS): EU Constitutional Law (7.5 ECTS), Principles of
European Business Law (7.5 ECTS), Internal Market Law (15
ECTS), EU Competition Law (15 ECTS), Master’s thesis (30
ECTS), elective courses (45 ECTS) in areas such as Intellectual
Property Law, Tax Law, Internal Market Law, Moot Court,
etc.
Courses in the 1 year programme: EU Constitutional
Law (7.5 ECTS), Principles of European Business Law (7.5
ECTS), Internal Market Law (15 ECTS), EU Competition Law
(15 ECTS), Master’s thesis (15 ECTS).
Career prospects
With a unique combination of traditional legal studies in
business law (i.e. contract law, tax law and competition law)
and economic- and trade-related issues, this programme is
ideal preparation for a career within private practice, national/EU
institutions or legal research. It also provides a
good grounding for students interested in pursuing an academic
career within the University.

- Cover sheet
- Certificates and diplomas from previous studies at an internationally
recognised higher education institution (university
or university college)
- Transcripts of completed courses and grades for each semester
(including course list)
- Proof of English language skills
- Statement of purpose
- Two letters of recommendation
- Proof that you meet the specific admission requirements
- Copy of the page in your passport with your personal data
and photograph, or some other identification document (EU/
EEA citizens may need to send a certified passport copy)

At least a 3-year Bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B or equivalent).

Selection criteria/additional info
Selection is based on previous university/college studies and
other merits such as letters of recommendation and statement
of purpose.
tuition fees
There are no tuition fees for EU/EEA citizens. For non-EU/ EEA
citizens the tuition fee for this programme is SEK 130 000 per

About the Faculty of Law
Lund University was founded in 1666 by King Karl XI, and
the Faculty of Law is one of the four original faculties. Research
at the Faculty encompasses all central areas of law
and demonstrates a considerable breadth.
Education is provided for both undergraduates and postgraduates.
All education within the Faculty is based on research.
The majority of the Faculty’s activities focus on educating
lawyers, leading to the Swedish degree of Master of
Laws, LL. M. The Faculty has student exchange agreements
