<strong>Programme</strong> overview<br />
The programme provides an <strong>in</strong>-depth understand<strong>in</strong>g of<br />
both the practical and the theoretical aspects of bus<strong>in</strong>ess<br />
law with<strong>in</strong> the <strong>European</strong> Union and of how the <strong>in</strong>ternal<br />
market operates <strong>in</strong> a global context. Students also acquire<br />
knowledge of EU constitutional law as a necessary basis for<br />
the understand<strong>in</strong>g of <strong>European</strong> bus<strong>in</strong>ess law.<br />
The programme provides both general and specific<br />
knowledge of the <strong>European</strong> Union legal framework, which<br />
is necessary for students <strong>in</strong>tend<strong>in</strong>g to work as legal advisors<br />
or bus<strong>in</strong>ess decision-makers. Students can tailor the<br />
programme to suit their own <strong>in</strong>terests, which gives them<br />
a competitive edge when apply<strong>in</strong>g for future positions on<br />
the labour market.<br />
<strong>Programme</strong> modules/courses<br />
Courses <strong>in</strong> the 2 year programme: Compulsory courses<br />
(75 ECTS): EU Constitutional <strong>Law</strong> (7.5 ECTS), Pr<strong>in</strong>ciples of<br />
<strong>European</strong> Bus<strong>in</strong>ess <strong>Law</strong> (7.5 ECTS), Internal Market <strong>Law</strong> (15<br />
ECTS), EU Competition <strong>Law</strong> (15 ECTS), Master’s thesis (30<br />
ECTS), elective courses (45 ECTS) <strong>in</strong> areas such as Intellectual<br />
Property <strong>Law</strong>, Tax <strong>Law</strong>, Internal Market <strong>Law</strong>, Moot Court,<br />
etc.<br />
Courses <strong>in</strong> the 1 year programme: EU Constitutional<br />
<strong>Law</strong> (7.5 ECTS), Pr<strong>in</strong>ciples of <strong>European</strong> Bus<strong>in</strong>ess <strong>Law</strong> (7.5<br />
ECTS), Internal Market <strong>Law</strong> (15 ECTS), EU Competition <strong>Law</strong><br />

Career prospects<br />
With a unique comb<strong>in</strong>ation of traditional legal studies <strong>in</strong><br />
bus<strong>in</strong>ess law (i.e. contract law, tax law and competition law)<br />
and economic- and trade-related issues, this programme is<br />
ideal preparation for a career with<strong>in</strong> private practice, national/EU<br />
<strong>in</strong>stitutions or legal research. It also provides a<br />
good ground<strong>in</strong>g for students <strong>in</strong>terested <strong>in</strong> pursu<strong>in</strong>g an academic<br />
career with<strong>in</strong> the <strong>University</strong>.<br />

Admission requirements<br />
At least a 3-year Bachelor’s degree <strong>in</strong> law (LL.B or equivalent).<br />

Selection criteria/additional <strong>in</strong>fo<br />
Selection is based on previous university/college studies and<br />
other merits such as letters of recommendation and statement<br />
of purpose.<br />
tuition fees<br />
There are no tuition fees for EU/EEA citizens. For non-EU/ EEA<br />
citizens the tuition fee for this programme is SEK 130 000 per<br />

About the Faculty of <strong>Law</strong><br />
<strong>Lund</strong> <strong>University</strong> was founded <strong>in</strong> 1666 by K<strong>in</strong>g Karl XI, and<br />
the Faculty of <strong>Law</strong> is one of the four orig<strong>in</strong>al faculties. Research<br />
at the Faculty encompasses all central areas of law<br />
