Advanced diploma of Hospitality<br />

TAFE NSW – Northern Sydney Institute (NSI) and <strong>Charles</strong> <strong>Sturt</strong> <strong>University</strong> (CSU)<br />

have developed a new and innovative program that integrates practical and<br />

academic learning resulting in two recognised qualifications in just three years;<br />

a TAFE NSW Advanced Diploma and a <strong>Charles</strong> <strong>Sturt</strong> <strong>University</strong> Bachelor Degree.<br />

What are the benefits?<br />

• Ryde college is internationally renowned and recognised<br />

as a leader in tourism and hospitality studies.<br />

• Graduate with two qualifications in only three years, with no extra<br />

time or workload.<br />

• Save up to 40% of the cost of just studying the degree alone, due<br />

to receiving credit for the Advanced Diploma.<br />

• No need to apply through UAC. All admissions are by direct entry<br />

application to CSU and NSI via Ryde College.<br />

• The entire program is delivered at Ryde College. You will have full<br />

access to the services and facilities provided by both NSI and CSU.<br />

• The CSU component of the program is supported under<br />

Commonwealth Supported Places (formally HECS).<br />

Course structure<br />

The course has six stages. In the first four stages (first and second<br />

year) you will be studying components of both courses – the<br />

Advanced Diploma of Hospitality (including three specialist elective<br />

streams) and the first four subjects of the Bachelor of <strong>Hotel</strong><br />

<strong>Management</strong>.<br />

In the final two stages (third year) you will complete the remaining<br />

eight degree subjects.

What can I do after I complete this degree?<br />

Bachelor of <strong>Hotel</strong> <strong>Management</strong> graduates are well equipped for positions in<br />

marketing, management, human resources and operations across all sectors<br />

of the tourism, hospitality and events industry.<br />

Articulated Programs<br />

What if I have already completed an Advanced Diploma in Hospitality, Tourism or Events?<br />

Applicants who have completed an Advanced<br />

Diploma of Hospitality (SIT60307); Advanced<br />

Diploma of Events (SIT60207); or Advanced<br />

Diploma of Tourism (SIT60107) will gain 1.5 years<br />

credit towards the Bachelor of <strong>Hotel</strong> <strong>Management</strong>.<br />

They can continue their studies at NSI’s Ryde<br />

College and complete the degree in as little as<br />

18 months (full-time).<br />
