TAFE NSW – Northern Sydney Institute (NSI) and Charles Sturt University (CSU)
have developed a new and innovative program that integrates practical and
academic learning resulting in two recognised qualifications in just three years;
a TAFE NSW Advanced Diploma and a Charles Sturt University Bachelor Degree.
What are the benefits?
• Ryde college is internationally renowned and recognised
as a leader in tourism and hospitality studies.
• Graduate with two qualifications in only three years, with no extra
time or workload.
• Save up to 40% of the cost of just studying the degree alone, due
to receiving credit for the Advanced Diploma.
• No need to apply through UAC. All admissions are by direct entry
application to CSU and NSI via Ryde College.
• The entire program is delivered at Ryde College. You will have full
access to the services and facilities provided by both NSI and CSU.
• The CSU component of the program is supported under
Commonwealth Supported Places (formally HECS).
Course structure
The course has six stages. In the first four stages (first and second
year) you will be studying components of both courses – the
Advanced Diploma of Hospitality (including three specialist elective
streams) and the first four subjects of the Bachelor of Hotel
Management.
In the final two stages (third year) you will complete the remaining
eight degree subjects.

What can I do after I complete this degree?
Bachelor of Hotel Management graduates are well equipped for positions in
marketing, management, human resources and operations across all sectors
of the tourism, hospitality and events industry.
Articulated Programs
What if I have already completed an Advanced Diploma in Hospitality, Tourism or Events?
Applicants who have completed an Advanced
Diploma of Hospitality (SIT60307); Advanced
Diploma of Events (SIT60207); or Advanced
Diploma of Tourism (SIT60107) will gain 1.5 years
credit towards the Bachelor of Hotel Management.
They can continue their studies at NSI’s Ryde
College and complete the degree in as little as
18 months (full-time).
