entertaining the people of the town for 100 years and this season will be no different. We’ve got great comedy acts, family entertainment, dance,

Kids can look forward to seeing television favourites Chris and 

Pui, And Treasure Island brings swashbuckling pirate adventure 

in July. 

Local Societies 

Are out doing themselves this summer, Redditch Operatic 

Society presents Seasons of Love which features songs 

from every era, and from genres including musicals, pop, 

traditional classics and modern standards, this will be a nonstop 

journey through the seasons of the year. New company 

All Round Theatre bring the funny nunny musical Nunsense 

to the stage and The Harlequins have productions of Joseph 

and His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in July followed by 

Oliver! in August.

TONS OF MONEY 

Alan Ayckbourn’s hilarious adaptation of the 

first of the famous Aldwych farces, originally 

written in 1922 by Will Evans & Valentine. 

Unsuccessful inventor, Aubrey Allington 

inherits the life interest in a fortune, which 

reverts on his death to his cousin George 

Maitland. As Cousin George is thought to 

have died abroad, Aubrey has the brilliant 

idea of ‘dying’ so that he can resurrect 

himself as his cousin and thus avoid 

payment of his own enormous debts. But, 

in the best tradition of farce, complications 

arise in the form of George’s wife; another 

Maitland imposter (the butler’s brother) and 

finally the real George himself! 

Ayckbourn’s witty adaptation of the script 

has ensured that this original farce stands 

the test of time.

To date Andy has done three sell-out National tours 

and in 2009 released his debut DVD ‘Britain’s Got

If you saw the film ‘Walk the Line’ then you will

Since appearing on BBC television at the age 

of 14 singing ‘The Tennessee Flat Top Box’, 

Roger Dean has been playing Cash’s music 

most of his life. 

With the ‘Lazy Boys’ he will keep you 

spellbound with his knowledge of the country 

music legend. Between singing classic 

numbers such as Big River, Ring of Fire, I 

Walk the Line, Sunday Morning Coming Down 

and Hurt, Dean describes Johnny’s rise from 

poverty stricken beginnings in rural Arkansas to 

world stardom.

NUNSENSE 

NUNSENSE is a delightful romp of a musical 

about 5 nuns who are putting on a fund 

raising concert. The nuns are in a financial 

fix because their convent cook accidentally 

poisoned 52 of their sisters vichyssoise 

soup. They had enough money to inter 48 

of the nuns but ran out of funds to bury the 

remaining 4 sisters who are taking up space 

in the convent freezer. 

The absurd situation results in the sisters 

putting on a charity show in which hidden 

talents are revealed. 

NUNSENSE is a happy and joyously funny 

show featuring a talented cast. It has lively 

song and dance numbers, comic routines 

and clever wordplay. The nun humour is 

gentle, sometimes irreverent, but never 

offensive. 

It really would be a sin to miss it!

Following their acclaimed show last 

year UK Pink Floyd Experience makes a 

welcome return to the Palace. 

Featuring top class musicians, the band 

aims to perfect the atmosphere of the 

great Pink Floyd in concert. This year the 

band will be performing their “60’s and 

70’s Show”, selecting songs from Piper at 

the Gates of Dawn, Saucer Full Of Secrets, 

Ummagumma, Atom Heart Mother, 

Meddle, The Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish 

You Were Here, Animals and The Wall. 

The band replicates the touring bands of

courage. Desperate to get back to Kansas, Dorothy

MUSICAL HISTORY TOUR 

A dash through musical history on mediaeval, 

renaissance and baroque period instruments. 

The Night Watch’s show, Musical History 

Tour. Takes you on a journey from the 12th to 

the early 18th century, their whistle-stop tour 

of musical history stops only to pick up their 

period instruments. Between them, Andy 

Casserley and Ian Pittaway sing and play 

recorders, lutes, shawms, gittern, rebec, oud, 

crumhorn, cittern, pipe and tabor, 4 course 

guitar, bagpipes, cornamuse, orpharion, 

gemshorn, simfony, and percussion. 

Between pieces, The Night Watch will tell 

you a bit about the songs, tunes, history and 

instruments, and there’ll be a chance to have 

a closer look at historical instruments you

The Palace Youth Theatre runs weekly 

workshops which are divided into age 

categories. Sessions differ depending 

on the age of the children in the group, 

the leader taking it and the needs of 

the participants. 

Sessions include drama games, details of 

performance techniques, using improvisation, 

script work, movement pieces, vocal 

performance and lots more. 

The Palace Youth Theatre provides its 

members the opportunity to audition for two 

main performances each year which are 

performed on the main stage. These shows 

are taken seriously and auditions are held 

which ensure that actors who are most suited 

to the roles are cast. The shows performed by 

the youth theatre tend to have large casts and 

there are many opportunities for members to 

be involved. 

We always have great fun in youth theatre 

shows and they are seen as a great privilege 

to be a part of.

Ticket Resale or Exchange 

It is general practice that tickets are not exchanged or money 

refunded. However if patrons find that they are unable to 

use their tickets the Box Office will endeavour to resell them 

(although this can not be guaranteed) they must be returned 

at least three days before the performance. The resale value 

may not total the amount you paid for your tickets originally. 

Tickets are put up for resale at your own risk. There is an 

administration charge for this service of £1.50 which will be 

deducted from the resale value. 

We will also exchange unwanted tickets on your behalf, for the 

same show if there is another date to choose from. Exchanges 

are subject to ticket availability and an administration charge of 

£1.50 per seat will be made to exchange tickets. 

Children 

All children over 12 months of age must have a paid for 

seat. And will only be admitted to specified children’s shows 

and the pantomime. 

Parents with babes in arms under 12 months will only be 

admitted to specified children’s shows and the pantomime 

and must report to the Box Office on arrival so the Front of 

House Manager can issue a pass ticket for the child to be 

admitted to the auditorium.

Car Park 2 is situated off Access 2 of the Redditch Ring road 

You can park in Car Park 2 for matinee performances at the Car Park’s current hourly rate. 

It is just a short walk of about 5 minutes from this car park back to the theatre. 

To get back to the Theatre walk across the Town Hall car park and through onto Alcester Street. The theatre will be right in front of you. 

QUADRANT CAR PARK 

Take Access 1 off the Ring road, proceed straight ahead along Red Lion Street until the road curves to the right. Turn left immediately 

after the Queen’s Head Pub into Victoria Street and the Quadrant Car Park is on the left. It is just a short walk back past Shipley’s

(Evenings Only) At the first roundabout on the ringway take the second exit into Other Road, at the top of the hill you will 

come to a mini roundabout, go straight on and turn left into the car park opposite Blockbusters Video Store. Take a short 

walk up Ipsley Street and cross the road at the pelican crossing. Take the underpass under the ringroad and when you 

emerge the Palace Theatre will be right in front of you. 

Parking For Disabled Drivers 

Please use the disabled car parking spaces available opposite the theatre in the Apollo Electrical Centre car park.

Please do not park your car in Staples/Lidl/Apollo car parks or you could be subject to a fine. These are private car parks for the use 

of their customers only. 

Palace Theatre Volunteers 

Would you like to join our band of Palace Theatre Volunteers? We are looking for people to help Front of House, ushering, 

working in the kiosk, bar, and coffee bar, and selling programmes and merchandise. We also require volunteers to help 

backstage. You must be aged 18 or over to be a Palace Theatre Volunteer. If you would like to join our happy band please call the
