ching
and dimming is via a conventional push button. The DALI dimmable
electronic control units from BAG electronics with Push-Dim
function can be alternatively wired for this purpose. Here the phase
or neutral conductor for example is bridged with either of the two
DALI connection terminals. The push button can now be connected
between the other mains conductor and the second DALI connection
terminal. Simultaneous use of the DALI interface and a push button
is not permissible.
Service life of electronic control gears
The service life and thus reliability of electronic control gear is determined
by the failure rates of the components used.
In addition to the electrical specification and quality of components,
tronics
ECGs from the ZITARES series are designed so that a failure
rate of maximum 2% per 1,000 hours is expected with the maximum
permissible housing temperature tc,max. This corresponds to a service
life of 50,000 hours at a possible percentage of failed devices
vice
life of more than 20 years is achieved, whereby during this time
period 10% of devices can statistically fail. With lower device temperatures
the service life of the electronic control gear is increased.

failure rate is approximately halved, corresponding to a service life
of 100,000 hours. Exceeding the temperature tc,max can lead to a
correspondingly drastic shortening of service life.
To ensure the specified service life, all components and switching
groups of BAG electronics ECGs are designed to operate below their
permissible limit values. And in order to eliminate premature failures
resulting from concealed defects, all devices pass through various
test benches during the manufacturing process where component
testing and measurements of operation-relevant data for example
are implemented. The ECGs are then subjected to a final burn-in test
before dispatch.
